At the Good News Lutheran College Harmony Day Fair in term 1, students had the opportunity to enter in a colouring-in competition to win a prize through St Philip's Lutheran Church.

After collecting all the entries the winners were drawn.
Congratulations to the following entrants.

Who wouldn't want to come to Church??!!

At the end of Term 1, 2 of our wonderful GROW children received icecream vouchers.
Asher was the lucky recipient of the Attendance Champion Award for the child who attended the most Sundays in the term.
Lorelei received the Tween Spirit Award for showing her heart in all she did for God through acts of learning and service this term.

A big THANK YOU to 'Gelateria on the Docks' for providing the vouchers to celebrate this special moment ❤️

Members of St Philips will be joining GNLutheran College to walk either 3 or 12kms to raise money for a very worthwhile cause. If you can't attend, please feel free to donate through the ALWS Walk My Way website 😊

When ALWS began in 1950, it was so generous Australians could walk alongside people in need… to bring care and love to those overlooked and forgotten by the world.

Happy Belated Easter. He is Risen!!
What a wonderful display of new life in flower form and a visual representation of a clever way to remember the Easter story for our GROW Kids.

E - excitement when Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey
A - anger of High Priests and Pharisees
S - Last Supper and sacrifice that Jesus was to make
T - traitor that would be Judas
E - the end when Jesus was crucified on Good Friday
R - Resurrection on Easter Sunday

Jesus' Resurrection shows us that he was more than a good teacher. The U in the word SAVIOUR reminds us that He died for everybody, for you and for me, and that He is our SAVIOUR.

Our GROW Kids then participated in an Easter Egg hunt followed by a rather loud game of hop, hop, rabbit. (duck, duck goose)!!!!!

Over the last 6 weeks, the GROW Kids have helped add items to our Lenten Display. All of the symbols that we’ve added so far tell the story of Jesus and the sacrifice he made at Easter time when he died on the cross. We’ve walked with Jesus for 40 days in the wilderness where he was tempted by Satan to turn stones into bread. Our bronze snake on the stick reminds us of Jesus being lifted up on a cross to save us, and the importance of faith. The water showed us that in order to live a Godly life the only water we need is Jesus as our ‘living water’, and the candle reminds us that Jesus is the light of the world. Our bandage, from the story of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead, reminds us that Jesus has the power over death and He too rose again. On Sunday we added our last item - palm leaves. They mark the celebration of Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week. Jesus came to Jerusalem as King, a king who will ultimately bring peace to the world through his death and resurrection.
