“One thing I know for certain is that God does not always give us what we want, but he DEFINITELY gives us what we need.”
I was just 10 years old when I was placed in an orphanage, where I remained until I was 15.
After leaving the institution, I went to live with my dad. Once I became aware that the environment I was living in was toxic, I made the difficult decision to virtually put myself on the streets.
Fortunately, I was able to secure a job at a supermarket, which gave me a sense of independence and helped me survive.
At the age of 17, I became pregnant, which led me into an early marriage. Two and a half years later, I had my second child. By then, my marriage had become both unhappy and unhealthy, and I found myself a very young single mother.
Eventually, I left Canberra in search of a more fulfilling life on the Gold Coast, Queensland. While the move brought many challenges, it also marked the beginning of a new chapter in my life.
Throughout my journey, I had a deep desire to reconnect with my Catholic upbringing and explore my spiritual life. I had always believed strongly in God.
For a few years, I attended the Anglican Church, but I still felt a void within me that needed to be filled.
It wasn’t until I had a profound conversation with my cousin that she mentioned The Revival Fellowship-Gold Coast in Tallebudgera and encouraged me to visit. I decided to check it out, and from the moment I arrived, I felt what I had been yearning for—a sense of belonging, calmness, and peace.
Everything happened very quickly after that. On the 10th of December 2023, I was baptised by full immersion, as taught in Acts 2:38. Then, on the 16th of January 2024, I miraculously received the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues, just as promised in Acts 2:4.
Since then, I have been greatly blessed. I have enjoyed reading and exploring God’s Word and growing in my understanding of the Bible. I have also witnessed God’s provision in my life. One example was when the Lord provided me with a beautiful little cottage to live in after I had been searching for a home for ten months. This is just one of the many ways he has cared for and provided for me.
One thing I know for certain is that God does not always give us what we want, but he DEFINITELY gives us what we need.
Praise the Lord. Amen. 🙏
