Network Heaven Helping disadvantaged children with school supplies and a small gift pack and to empower women in rural communities.

The work of Network Heaven commenced in 2001 with the Bethlehem Creche Project. Sr Florella a Carmalite nun working in the slum area of Sri Lanka feeds children 0 to 5 on a daily basis whilst their Mum's went to work. Their work was going from house to house as domestics, sweeping the streets and public areas, working on building sites etc. The request was that we sent each child a new set of clot

hes underwear and a few basics such as toiletry items colouring pencils some stationery and lolly bag. However, this work has now expanded over many years working with various Local Partners spread across Sri Lanka helping mainly children and women living in poverty. The aim is to send a Christmas Gift pack of new items because they are in a cycle of poverty that will only afford them others 2nd hand scraps for the rest of their life. We are aiming to help break this poverty cycle through education and assisting the children commence the school year with some basics. In 2014 almost 1500 children were helped. 2015 is also looking to be a similar number. Many children from the former war zones have also been included. They are from all ethnic backgrounds and religions. Poverty is sadly common to ALL of these children and their Mum's who struggle to put food on the table (if there is one) let alone purchase school uniforms and books and stationery.

Packing dates for the 2026 To Sri Lanka with Love shipment at Forest Baptist Church. Start time 9.30am to 4.30pm
Note: Please do not arrive during lunch times 12:30 to 1:30pm as all the leaders too need to have lunch and have a break.

We need helpers on the 23rd and 24th Sept to unpack and prepare all the goods for making the gift packs. We are also short of helpers on Saturday 26th. On 28th Monday we will be running a marathon to finish packing all the boxes and MUST finish on Thursday 1st October and clean up the whole area. Please email Anne if you can come. Thanks.

Looking for a friendly printer to print 3 double sided A4 sheets into puzzle booklets. Possibly 600 sheets? These are folded into A5 size booklets and serve as activity sheets and for colouring pages? Can you help? These are needed very soon. Contact Anne asap.
We still need about 150 cakes of soap.

Sadly more floods and 7 deaths in the central hills tea plantations areas. We have many local leaders who distribute our one off gift each year to students in plantation area schools and communities.

We are still needing soap! But, guess what a friend found was obsolete at a shop and arranged to donate them for the children's gift packs @ Network Heaven? Hankies! In fact 200 of them. Such a blessing to include a hanky for the children. We are looking for obsolete items from Corporates. Such as bags, caps, pens, notebooks, sticky notes etc. So keep asking those contacts! Often the big companies need to dump them due to branding defects! But we would love to put these items to good use and save them from landfill! Can you help? Ask friends in the corporate sector? please we need these in the next 6 to 7weeks!

Friends, We now urgently need to collect soap if we are to give each child 1 cake of soap in September. A small luxury that is a necessary item for children and poor families living in plantations miles away from a small shop but food is a higher priority for them. I am asking a few people to get together with friends to make it happen by purchasing bulk! We need at least 1,000 cakes of soap. Please will you start up a collection?

An amazing sewing day was had at Lilli Pilli yesterday. 6 ladies joined and completed 8 dresses. More taken away to be completed at home. The dresses are all ready cut and packaged so I am thankful for the Lords provision. More sewers are needed to help out this year. Please contact Anne if you can help.
