KEHENDAK MANUSIA & KEDAULATAN ALLAH

Kehendak manusia itu nyata, tetapi tidak pernah lebih berkuasa daripada kehendak Allah. Sejarah memperlihatkan bagaimana kehendak manusia dapat membawa kehancuran, namun tidak ada satu pun yang dapat menggagalkan rencana Allah.

Dalam perspektif Reformed, kita diingatkan bahwa Allah bukan sekadar penonton dalam sejarah. Ia adalah Tuhan yang berdaulat atas segala sesuatu, dan kehendak-Nya selalu terlaksana sesuai dengan rencana-Nya yang sempurna.

Bukan kehendak manusia yang menjadi pusat alam semesta, melainkan kehendak Allah yang kudus, bijaksana, dan berdaulat.

Sudahkah kita belajar untuk menundukkan kehendak kita di bawah kehendak-Nya?

Pernahkah menyiapkan hadiah untuk orang yang kamu kasihi? 🎁
Kamu memilih dengan teliti, membungkusnya dengan indah, lalu menyerahkannya dengan jantung berdebar. Saat dia menerimanya dan menyukainya, sukacitamu sungguh penuh.

Allah memberikan Kristus. Ketika kita menerima dan mengasihi Kristus, di situlah sukacita dan kepuasan Allah.

Tapi ada hal yang penting:
Kepuasan tertinggi Allah bukan karena kita. Kepuasan tertinggi Allah ada di dalam Kristus sendiri.

Injil tidak berpusat pada manusia. Injil berpusat pada Allah, yang dengan anugerah-Nya mengizinkan kita ikut menikmati Anak yang Ia kasihi.

“Inilah Anak-Ku yang Kukasihi, kepada-Nyalah Aku berkenan.” (Matius 3:17)

THE 13TH REVIVAL DAY SERVICE OF IREC SYDNEY

“For from His fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.”
— John 1:16

By the sovereign grace of God, IREC Sydney celebrates its 13th Revival Day, giving thanks for His faithfulness in sustaining His church throughout the years.

The existence of His church rests not upon our own strength, but entirely upon the abundant grace of God in Jesus Christ.

As we reflect on His gracious work among us, may we be renewed in our love for Christ and His Word, strengthened in faith, and encouraged in our commitment to proclaim the Gospel.

Let us gather in worship and thanksgiving, prepare our hearts in prayer, and invite our family and friends to hear the Gospel and know the grace of God in Jesus Christ.

Tuhan berikan kepada manusia adalah kehendak bebas, yaitu kemampuan untuk memilih dan mengambil keputusan.

Kehendak memiliki dua keunggulan: kebebasan dan kekuasaan, meskipun keduanya tetap memiliki batas.

Pikiran dapat menunjukkan apa yang benar dan salah, memberikan pertimbangan, bahkan mengarahkan kita pada pilihan yang baik. Namun, pada akhirnya, kehendaklah yang menentukan apakah kita mau mengikutinya atau tidak.

Itulah sebabnya, mengetahui apa yang benar tidak selalu berarti kita mau melakukan yang benar.

Rasul Paulus pun menggambarkan pergumulan ini:
“Sebab bukan apa yang aku kehendaki, yaitu yang baik, yang aku perbuat, melainkan apa yang tidak aku kehendaki, yaitu yang jahat, yang aku perbuat.”
— Roma 7:19 (TB)

Tuhan memberi kita kemampuan untuk memilih, tetapi Dia juga mengundang kita untuk menggunakan kebebasan itu dengan bijaksana, selaras dengan kehendak-Nya.

Karena kebebasan sejati bukan sekadar mampu melakukan apa yang kita mau, tetapi juga mampu memilih apa yang berkenan kepada Tuhan.
