Games night was exactly what a cool Saturday called for.

Flip Seven at one table. Mahjong tiles clicking at another. A jigsaw puzzle slowly taking shape in the corner. Rummikub, Scrabble and Bananagrams keeping the rest of us on our toes.

Hot food, warm company, and minimal screen time.

This is what community looks like.

This morning at church, Heather Collier brought a small but powerful display to honour those who served.

Two Australian Army hats. The Australian flag. And five medals – each one a life.

On the left, two British War Medals (Victory Medals) from the First World War, belonging to the grandfather of Heather's husband Bob. On the right, three WW2 Defence War Medals – St John Ambulance – belonging to Heather's own father.

Two families. Two wars. One quiet act of remembrance.

Thank you to the men who served our country. We will remember them.

HopeStreet walks alongside people doing it tough: those facing homelessness, family violence, or who simply can't put food on the table. They offer hot meals, safe spaces, counselling, crisis support and genuine community – meeting people exactly where they are, without judgement.

It's the kind of work that quietly changes lives. And your generosity is part of that.
