The Sydney Prayer Breakfast took place bright and early on Wednesday, 10th June. SALT was fortunate to secure a table of 10 out of the 1800 Christians that were gathered there. It was a wonderful atmosphere, with people praying for all levels of governance affecting Sydney-siders and our beautiful city. The keynote speaker, Tim Kirk (featured in the picture below) was a particular standout, discussing his “three great passions: faith, family and fine wine”.

Papua New Guinea’s Parliament has passed a constitutional amendment officially recognizing the country as a Christian nation, with overwhelming support.

The change adds a declaration in the Constitution’s preamble acknowledging God—Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit—as Creator and the source of authority, and also recognizes the Bible as a national symbol.

Prime Minister James Marape welcomed the decision, highlighting the historical role of Christian churches in national unity and development.

He also emphasized that religious freedom remains protected and the amendment does not restrict other faiths.

The Annual Sydney Prayer Breakfast took place last Wednesday, 11th June. The keynote speaker this year was Dr Julie McGonigle, head of St Andrew’s Cathedral School in Sydney. Dr McGonigle gave an inspiring talk on the power of “specific, unified, persistent, faith-filled prayer”.

It was wonderful to see so many believers gathered in one place to pray for our beloved Sydney.

We have reserved a table for next year’s event at an early-bird discounted price ($60 per person). It is scheduled for Wednesday, 10th June 2026, from 6:30-8:30 am. If anyone is interested in joining us at our table, please let us know 🙂
