This beautiful du’a is mentioned in Surah Al-Ahqaf as the prayer of a person who reaches maturity—someone old enough to understand the weight of everything their parents have done for them, and humble enough to ask Allah for the ability to truly show gratitude.

رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَالِدَيَّ

“My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents.”
