From little things... big things grow.
I’m sure you’ve noticed: Christmas began small. A young mother, a confused father, a baby born far from home — laid in a manger in a nowhere town, on the far edge of the Roman Empire. There were no palaces, no armies, no headlines. Just a child, some shepherds, and a whispered promise from God.
‘Mild he lays his glory by…’
But from this tiny beginning, a Kingdom began to grow — not of might, but of mercy; not of power, but of peace. Like a seed hidden in the soil, the life of Jesus would one day fill the earth. As the carol says: He is risen with healing.
‘Light and life to all he brings; risen with healing in his wings.’
Perhaps that’s why Christmas still matters. In a world that prizes the big, the loud, and the spectacular, God still works through the small, the quiet, and the humble. From little things… his great story grows.
