The Day Barabbas Was Set Free
The iron shackles bit into Barabbas's wrists as he waited in his cell. Tomorrow, he would die on a Roman cross. He was a murderer, a rebel—and he knew he deserved it.
But then the guard's footsteps stopped at his cell.
"You're free to go."
Barabbas stared in disbelief. "What? But I'm guilty. I killed a man. I—"
"I know what you did," the guard said coldly. "And I know what He did. Nothing. The Nazarene is taking your cross."
The Walk
Stumbling into the sunlight, Barabbas pushed through the crowds until he saw Him—a man bloodied and beaten, struggling under the weight of a wooden beam. *His* cross. The cross meant for Barabbas.
Their eyes met for just a moment.
In that brief glance, Barabbas saw no hatred. Only love. This Jesus was innocent—everyone knew it. Yet here He was, carrying the punishment that belonged to a guilty man.
"Why?" Barabbas whispered. "Why would You do this?"
That's Your Story Too
Barabbas was guilty. He deserved death. But someone else took his place.
That's the story of every human soul.
We've all sinned. We've all fallen short. We've all earned the wages of our rebellion against God—and those wages are death. Romans 6:23 says, *"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."*
But Jesus stepped in. He took your place. Every stripe on His back, every nail through His flesh—it was meant for you.
Why? Because He loves you desperately. Because you are worth it to Him. Because He doesn't want you to perish but to have everlasting life.
Today Is Your Day
Right now, the Holy Spirit is knocking on your heart. You don't have to carry your guilt, shame, or sin anymore. Jesus already carried it for you. He already paid your debt.
All you have to do is accept the gift.

**THE SALVATION PRAYER**
*"Dear Lord Jesus,*
*I come to You as a sinner in need of a Savior. I confess that I have sinned and fallen short of Your glory.*
*I believe You are the Son of God. I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose again on the third day.*
*Today, I turn from my sins and turn to You. Forgive me, wash me clean, and come into my heart as my Lord and Savior.*
*I surrender my life to You. Make me new. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit.*
*Thank You for loving me. Thank You for dying for me. Thank You for setting me free.*
*In Jesus' name,*
*Amen."*
