Blacktown Local Candidates Forum (Voices for Power + People Seeking Asylum Team, Parramatta Diocese) (online)

A broad alliance of faith-based and community groups invites you to a Blacktown Local Candidates Forum in the lead-up to local council elections.
The online forum will be held tonight (Thursday) from 7pm to 8:15pm.
The forum will be a great opportunity to meet Mayor Tony Bleasdale OAM and candidates running for Blacktown City Council. It will be a chance to jointly ask them to commit to important social and environmental action in the next 5 years.
Organisers include the Sydney Alliance and Social Justice Groups of Plumpton, Seven Hills, Blacktown and Lalor Park Catholic Parishes.

The Lourdes 7Hills Young Adults from Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Community Seven Hills NSW and the Shia Imami TheIsmaili ANZ Muslim CIVIC (Young Adults) Seven Hills Community are joining together for a unique hamper drive for families who utilise the Community Migrant Resource Centre in Parramatta.

This is a gesture of solidarity in light of World Day of Migrants and Refugees and the inaugural Global Ismaili Civic Day, which are both being celebrated on Sunday.

This Friday, both communities invite you to participate in an online Zoom where they will share a meal together and learn about the commonalities between the two faiths and hear stories from their communities.

The Zoom will be held from 7.30pm to 9pm. Register via https://bit.ly/olol7hills-ismaili to receive the Zoom link.
