Hear ye, hear ye!
On this fine day, our Medieval Quest ventured beyond the castle walls!

On day 4 of Holiday Club, we enjoyed a change of scenery as our quest led us to the park. The children eagerly took part in a range of knightly training activities, including a battle against the dragon, an obstacle course, and a waterslide - all essential preparations for our knights in training.

Upon our return to church, we watched the next chapter of our drama before heading into small groups. The children learnt that Jesus died so that each of us could be forgiven and become friends with God - and that forgiven people can tell others so they can be forgiven too!

The day concluded, as always, with our much-loved Jester’s Challenge. Year 2 competed in the Jester’s Race (a sack race), while Year 5 took on Unroll the Scroll (unrolling toilet paper). After a notable losing streak, the Jester finally triumphed, winning both challenges!

We’re so thankful to God that we were able to head to the park on Thursday. It was a wonderful day and we’re looking forward to our family event tonight!

Hear ye, hear ye!
On this fair day, our Medieval Quest pressed ever onward!

On day 3 of Holiday Club, we were thrilled to welcome 82 children for yet another day of excitement, laughter, and medieval merriment.

A key highlight of the day’s program was the thrilling Boss Battle. The children bravely faced the dragon and battled the knights in order to rescue the princess. In both sessions, the children were victorious!

The children also had a wonderful time in their small groups. It was so encouraging to see them opening God’s Word together, asking thoughtful questions, showing curiosity, and learning new things. The children learnt that Peter failed Jesus, but Jesus came to save people who fail.

The day concluded with the much-anticipated Jester’s Challenge. Cheers rang out as Year 1 and Year 3 stepped forward to take on the Dragon Egg Dash, showing great perseverance and enthusiasm as they battled valiantly for the Jester’s Cup!

It was another fantastic day on our Medieval Quest, and we look forward to the rest of the week.

Hear ye, hear ye!
On this fair day, our Medieval Quest did boldly continue!

On day 2 of Holiday Club, we welcomed 77 children for another day of medieval adventure.

Today, the children once again threw themselves into medieval-themed games and crafts, as well as singing and dancing with great joy. We also watched the next chapter of our drama and listened to our second Bible talk.

In their small groups, the children discussed what they had heard in the talk and opened God’s Word together. They learnt that God’s plan to save us was for his Son, Jesus, to die and come back to life again - the only way we could be saved.

The day ended with our Jester’s Challenge. With cheers echoing through the hall, Year 2 and Year 6 took on the target practice task with great determination. They successfully outplayed the Jester and claimed the Jester’s Cup for their year groups!

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow for the next day of our Medieval Quest.

Hear ye, hear ye!
On the morn just past, Holiday Club did commence!
The first day of Holiday Club hath begun, our grand and noble Medieval Quest.
Gather ye brave knights, fair maidens, and valiant squires, for a week of adventure, fellowship, and wondrous deeds now lies before us!

On day 1 of Holiday Club, we welcomed 76 children from Kindy to Year 6 for an action-packed start to the week.

Throughout the day, the children enjoyed medieval-themed games and crafts, singing and dancing, learning a memory verse from 1 John 4:9–10, eating yummy food, watching a drama and Bible talk, participating in small discussion groups, and taking on the Jester’s Challenge.

In their small groups, the children had opportunities to get to know one another while exploring the Bible and learning about God. The children learnt that people push Jesus away, but he still invites us to come and follow him.

Each session finished with the Jester’s Challenge, where Kindy and Year 4 were tasked with knocking down the Jester’s cup castle using juggling balls before he could finish building it. Both groups rose to the challenge and proudly won the Jester’s Cup for their year groups!

It was a fantastic first day of Holiday Club 2026, and we’re really looking forward to the rest of the week ahead. Thank you for your prayers and encouragement.

Day 5 of Holiday Club 2025 - ‘CIRCUS SPECTACULAR’.

Last week we had our final day of Holiday Club 2025! We had 94 children across the day.

At the start of our sessions, the children could choose between a running game called octopus, or a craft where we made lions out of wooden spoons and patty pans - these were so cute! After this, we sang and danced for the final time to a few of our favourites, including ‘Alive’, which the children love. Next, the musicians lead us through our memory verse (Titus 3:4-6). We had some competitions between year groups and the leaders which was lots of fun. The children were much louder!

In the final instalment of our drama, Lamon, Rusty, Yoyo, and Larry returned to the Ringmaster’s circus. Everyone rejoiced because the Ringmaster had paid their debt and forgiven them for running away from him. After this, Jared gave us a Bible talk in which we learned that we are all lost in sin and can’t find our own way back to God. However, God loves us so much that he sent Jesus to save us. And God rejoices when we ask for forgiveness!

Next, we ate morning/afternoon tea. A massive thank you to Julie and her team who have served us so lovingly this week. The food was incredible and no one ever went hungry - thank you!

After our small groups, we had something different in our program - our special Friday activities! It was time to put our apprentices (the children) to the test by having them participate in a series of circus challenges, such as sponge throwing, pin the nose on the clown, a circus puzzle, and more! A highlight for many was the gorilla game - a gorilla had stolen the key to the Ringmaster’s circus and it was the children’s job to retrieve it without waking the gorilla!

Of course, we had to finish the day with the Ring of Fire. In the morning, we had a tie between Year 1 and Year 2, so both year groups chose a leader to cream pie! The leaders chosen were Max and Lillian. In the afternoon, our Year 6’s chose Isabelle to cream pie, along with Emma. There were a lot of messy leaders on Friday, and a lot of smiling children 🙂

We’ve had the best time at Holiday Club and hope your children did too. Keep an eye out later in the year for news about Holiday Club 2026! In the meantime, we would love you to join us at our regular Friday afternoon and Sunday morning programs. Hope to see you soon.

Day 4 of Holiday Club 2025 - ‘CIRCUS SPECTACULAR’.

Sadly we weren't able to go to the park today, but we still had heaps of fun inside with our regular Monday to Wednesday program! We had 100 children come along today.

For today’s craft we decorated rings to play ring toss, while in the hall, the game played was animal rush (fruit salad). Next, we did our singing and dancing which we were able to have more time for since we didn’t walk to the park. It’s been great to see the children picking up the songs as we’ve learnt and practised them throughout the week.

After our music session, the children ran through the memory verse (Titus 3:4-6) with our band and then learnt some actions. In the K-2 session, the children suggested a couple of actions that Sophie and Jared could incorporate into the song. Tomorrow we will show the parents what we’ve been learning!

Instead of our park day activities, the children visited our stalls again and played a game in the hall. The game was called freeze tag - a leader versus children game - which is always a favourite! There were a few rounds played each session, with the leaders winning some, but the children winning more! We’ll have to get our leaders training for next year.

In the drama today, Lamon, Rusty, Yoyo, and Larry were feeling defeated about their debt and scared that they would soon be thrown into prison. However, after a visit from the banker, the crew learnt that the Ringmaster had forgiven the runaway circus for leaving his show and had paid off their debt in full, even though they had done nothing to deserve it. Lamon and the others couldn’t believe it! They were overjoyed and left right away to go back to the Ringmaster.

After this, Reuben gave a Bible talk, during which we heard the story of the lost son who ran away from his father and wasted his father’s money. Yet, to the son’s surprise, the father still welcomed him home with open arms. The children learnt that because of Jesus, God welcomes us into his family with open arms.

Next, it was time for morning/afternoon tea. The children enjoyed delicious fruit cups, savoury snacks, and some hot food. After this, the children headed to their small groups where they discussed God’s love and kindness in forgiving us and welcoming us into His family.

After our second round of crafts and games, we had the Ring of Fire. The groups that won today were Kindy and Year 5. The challenge was called ‘splash spectacular’ where two leaders were chosen to face off in a competitive game of scissors, paper, rock, where the loser was splashed in the face with water! Our four leaders were Finn and Maddy in the morning, and Sam and Imogen in the afternoon. We couldn’t do our water activities at the park, but the children loved watching our leaders get wet in this challenge!

It’s our last day of Holiday Club tomorrow! We’re excited to welcome the children one last time for our final day of fun. Thank you for your prayers and ongoing support.

Day 3 of Holiday Club 2025 - ‘CIRCUS SPECTACULAR’.

It’s hard to believe we’re halfway through the week! Today, we had 107 children across our two sessions.

For our activities during registration time, the children created trapeze artists out of paddle pop sticks and paper, which we then hung up as decorations. Next door, there was a game of Pac-Man tip on a masking tape maze shaped like a circus tent. During music time, the children learnt a new song called ‘Jesus Number 1’, which they picked up very quickly!

After this, Sophie and Jared challenged the children to recite the memory verse (Titus 3:4-6) without looking at the words. We had a few brave volunteers who recalled the memory verse so well and earned stickers for their year groups! Sophie and Jared were then joined by Max on the drums and Greeny on the guitar as we put the memory verse to a song! This was so much fun and it was great to see the children getting into it.

For our active game, the children participated in our annual ‘boss battle’, facing off against the lion and lion tamer, and even a gorilla! It was a tough battle, but the children triumphed in the end. This game has always been a favourite for many of the children.

In today's drama, Lamon, Rusty, Yoyo, and Larry were joined by a mailman who delivered them some unfortunate news. The crew received a letter stating that their debt to the bank must be paid off by noon the next day. The crew was horrified! They did receive some good news, however… the Ringmaster they had run away from had sent them an invite to his show, also at noon the next day. I wonder if our crew will take up this invitation?

After the drama, Sophie gave a Bible talk while Imogen drew the story out the front as Sophie spoke. The children learnt that Jesus came to pay for sin so that we might be fully forgiven. After morning/afternoon tea, we had our small groups where the children learnt more about forgiveness and how we can pray to God to ask for His forgiveness.

After our last activities, we had the Ring of Fire. The groups with the most stickers were Kindy and Year 6. Today’s challenge was called ‘Clowns Ice Cream’ which involved a leader holding an ice cream cone in their mouth while the children put on the toppings. Our chosen leaders were Jared and Becky - both of them ended up a mess, but it was all in good fun!

We can’t wait for our last two days of Holiday Club! We look forward to sharing more with you soon.
