Janmashtami celebrated with devotion and love at Sydney Kali Temple.

Janmashtami celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna, who embodies divine love, wisdom, and the triumph of dharma over adharma. It's not only a celebration of his birth, but also a call to awaken the courage to act with righteousness, compassion and detachment.

As Krishna teaches in the Bhagavad-Gita:

Yadā yadā hi dharmasya glānir bhavati bhārata,
Abhyutthānam adharmasya tadātmānaṁ sṛjāmy aham

“Whenever there is a decline in righteousness and an increase in unrighteousness, O Arjuna, at that time I manifest Myself” (Bhagavad-Gita 4.7).

Thus, Janmashtami reminds devotees that divinity arises to restore balance whenever humanity strays from the path of truth.
