Mark Zuckerberg a 32 year old man, is the inventor of Facebook and the 5th richest person in the world. His money however doesn't effect his life, he lives in an extremely modest way by wearing the same hoodie and grey t-shirt everyday, and driving an Acura.

Bilaam, a non-Jewish prophet was sent by one of the Jews' enemies to curse them. He came near the Jewish campsite in the desert, and was surprised to see the modest way in which the Jews lived, each one of the tents' entrances were located on the opposite direction of the second entrance, to keep privacy and modesty. Bilaam saw that and instead of cursing them started to bless them.

Zuckerberg and the Jewish campsite teach us the importance of modesty, where even when we have something good, it's better to not be proud and arrogant about it.

The spinner was invented by Catherine Hettinger, in an attempt to entertain her children. After 8 years of holding the pantet, she couldn't afford the renewal fee and gave up the rights. After a few years the rights for the spinners were bought off her and the new owners started selling them, making a huge profit from them. Although she didn't get even a cent from the spinners and struggles to make ends meet, she insists that she is not mad with her mistake, but rather pleased with and encouraged by the popularity of the spinners.

The Jewish nation ran out of water. Hashem told Moses and Aharon to speak to a rock, that will immediately give water to the nation. However, instead of speaking to the rock, they hit it with a stick. Due to their mistake their punishment was to not enter Israel.
By telling us Moses and Aaron's sin, the torah shows us that everyone makes mistakes. The greatness is to admit the mistakes we make and try to be pleased with them like Hettinger is, in order to learn and improve.

Micheal Phelps is one of the best swimmers of all time with 23 World championship gold medals. This number could have been much higher if not for Ryan Lochte, who won 18 golden medals. In the swimming pool they are rivals and competitors whilst outside, they are good friends. They use to say that their long rivalry helped them improve and push themselves more.

The Torah tells us about Korach, who one day decided to blame Moses for being the leader of the Jewish people. He claimed that each Jew is equal, and therefore leaders aren't needed. Korach's actions were caused by his ego and jealousy. He knew that Moses didn't choose himself as a leader, but rather Hashem did. We learn from this, that when we have competitions and arguments with other people, we should always try to make it a positive one like Phelps and Lochte have, and not as Korach had.

Yanush korchak was a famous Polish Jewish author, who lost his parents when he was 10. He established many schools for Jewish orphans as he knew the difficulty of growing up as an orphan. When the Nazi's came to take the orphaned children to the gas chambers, they offered him a chance to run away. Despite the pleads of his friends and family members however Korchak rejected this offer, and was sent to death with the children.

Moses sent 12 people to spy on the land of Israel before the Jews arrived. Upon their return, 10 spies said that Israel is a bad land, and that it would be impossible to capture it. The Jewish people believed and supported them, and requested to return to Egypt.
Despite the majority's opinion however, the other 2 spies claimed that Israel is a good land, and with a bit of faith in Hashem they will beat any enemy.

We can learn from Korchak and the 2 spies the importance of standing up for our beliefs with no compromises.

Harry Potter met Voldemort in the dark forest. Voldemort cursed him with the killing curse and sent Narcissa Malfoy to check if he was dead. She quickly realised that Harry was alive and quietly asked him if her son was too. Harry nodded yes and in return she lied that Harry was dead. Although the Malfoy family was central in the death eaters' circle, this deed ultimately saved their life when Voldemort was defeated.

Miriam, Moses' sister spoke Lashon Harha about Moses. The punishment of speaking Lashon Hara was expulsion out of the Jewish camp for one week. During that week however, the Jews stopped and didn't continue thier journey towards Israel. They did so because they remembered that many years before, Miriam took care of Moses and didn't leave him when he was in the basket on the Red Sea. We learn from this how small good deeds that we do can affect our lives positively.
