Anglican Deaconess Ministries

Anglican Deaconess Ministries Women for the Lord. Since 1891. We do so for the Church, and the common good.

We inspire and empower Christian women to bring the love of Jesus to a hurting world through theological education, compassionate ministries, community and public gospel witness. For 130 years, our work has responded to context and need, but we have had an enduring underlying mission: to raise up women with theological formation for practical and public engagement.

The 10th of June marks 'Thank a First Responder Day'. We honour and thank those who first attend to and care for those who have experienced a traumatic event. But sadly, trauma doesn't end when a First Responder finishes their care.

If you would like to be better equipped to care for those who experience trauma - perhaps someone in your church, your Bible study group, or your family - The Mental Health Institute have a number of articles and resources to help you: https://mentalhealthinstitute.org.au/resources/mental-health/trauma

We also have a Spotlight Session on Trauma coming up on 10 August. Register here >> https://events.humanitix.com/mental-health-institute-spotlight-session-trauma?c=organicsocials

How can we connect meaningfully with young women and support them?

The Mental Health Institute at ADM has created a 3-part series in which Amy Yeung, from the Institute, shares simple but powerful ways to build trust and start meaningful conversations with young women about mental health and faith.

Be equipped with practical tips to use at youth group, home, school, or anywhere that you spend time with young people. Find the series here >> https://mentalhealthinstitute.org.au/resources/mental-health/youth-mental-health
