It’s not too late to register and watch God With Us.

At just 38 verses long, the book of Haggai is full of treasure - as it draws on some big themes of the Old Testament and points towards us to their fulfilment in Christ.

Helpful reflections…

“Staying put presents opportunities to establish deep, meaningful relationships as you walk alongside others who are navigating new experiences and challenges. One of our former churches holds an annual missions conference. They bring in missionaries and church planters from all over the world. The most incredible part is listening to them talk to one another, celebrating victories 20 years in the making. Most people will never know their names, but these missionaries are making a global, eternal impact by committing their lives to a place and a people for the long haul.”

Read all four of the authors main points:

Longevity provides stability, stability provides consistency, and consistency provides trust.

““I need to step away from serving.”

These are words you expect to hear from time to time. People serve for seasons, and some seasons are longer than others. But this was coming from a capable and energetic ministry worker, a spiritually solid servant of Christ. Yet what followed was an explanation of emotional decline, frustrating interactions, and strained interpersonal relationships—an explanation that affirmed the decision, though hard, was wise.

If you’re serving in ministry, you have likely been encouraged to prioritize your spiritual health. You may have been exhorted to pay attention to spiritual disciplines that will shape you into the best possible leader, teacher, or minister. All of this is good. The Bible implores us to pay careful attention to ourselves (1 Tim. 4:12–16).

But spiritual vitality is not the only area of health ministry workers need to pursue. Your emotional health is also essential. Below are four traits of emotionally healthy people for you to pursue. If you’re in ministry, each one is worthy of your careful consideration.”

In your failings, the Lord often teaches you more about yourself and his character than in your times of great success.

"Dear fellow-workers in ministry,

We face a pressing concern. In twenty years’ time, who will be the ministers of our churches or leading youth and children’s ministries? Who will be serving overseas as missionaries? Who will be our chaplains in schools, hospitals, prisons, universities, defence force, aged care, and sporting bodies? Who will be our church planters, here or abroad?

We need to be increasingly intentional and proactive, identifying individuals who are competent and godly, open to learning and willing to bear the cost.

There is a clear answer: all those roles will be filled by men, women, young people from your congregation or who are involved in your ministries. They will be people whom you have prayed for, trained, nurtured and encouraged towards full-time Gospel ministry. There are so many different types of gospel ministry that we need to be helping to raise-up, including:

ordained church ministry;
youth work;
families and children’s work;
evangelism;
church planting;
Bible translation;
theological education;
university chaplaincy;
leaders of … denominations / church planting movements / Bible and theological colleges /church and missionary organisations;
mentoring and supervision;
coaching in ministry skills;
enabling lay ministry;
global missions advocacy;
doing cross-cultural ministry in Australia or overseas;
working in gospel-poor communities;
serving in rural ministry or outback ministry in Australia or overseas.

To do this we need to be increasingly intentional and proactive, identifying individuals who are competent and godly, open to learning and willing to bear the cost. We need to pray for them and nurture them. We will also need to change the culture of our churches and ministries in order to celebrate and further God’s global gospel plan. The banner of 2 Timothy 2:2 must be lifted high!" "

The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. (Matthew 9:37,38). All authority in heaven...

This is a great opportunity if you're looking to further your understanding of the Bible in 2022...

"Are you a godly Christian woman, seeking to better equip yourself for serving Christ in every sphere of life, but also lacking time in your week?

At Christ College, Sydney, we have seen and recognised the changing expectations around work, life, and study balance, specifically among women. That is why we are now offering our Ministry Training for Women (MTW) program both online and onsite– ultimately allowing much greater flexibility and accessibility for Christian women in all stages of life.

Ministering to people when we can't meet in person can be really tough. But as this article reminds us, we can use good questions in our conversations on the phone or zoom to help encourage and spur others on...

"Even when we cannot be present with people, we possess tools for real-time conversations with them that previous generations did not have. But if we do not use these technologies intentionally and strategically, souls will languish. While I would not underestimate the power of a handwritten note over an email in an age when people never receive such unique and tangible correspondence, a phone call is even more personal. A video chat is even better.

So don’t waste the opportunities provided by people’s isolation. The unusual circumstances may make possible better spiritual conversations with some people than you’ve ever had with them before. Having these specific questions before you will almost certainly lead to more meaningful dialogue than an unstructured, “I’m just calling to see how you’re doing” plan."

Some of the questions suggested:
1. What’s been the most difficult part of these circumstances for you so far?
4. What’s your devotional life been like during this time?
6. Have you found ways to experience any level of fellowship with other believers?
8. Have you had any thoughts on how our church could be ministering to the community better at this time?

Some good news to share with your women and networks - access to EQUIP21 has been extended until 19 August! 😍😍😍

GOOD NEWS! 🎉
We have been able to extend access to for all our delegates until 19 August.

AND if you missed it, you now have another month to register and watch. Some lockdown viewing!

See the email below that was sent to all those who have registered this morning:

Dear EQUIP21 delegates,

Many of you have now had the chance to watch EQUIP21, either live on 19 June or on demand since. We are thankful to God that the majority of groups were able to meet together prior to heightened COVID restrictions.

For some, the return to lockdown has allowed extra time to watch, reflect and interact with EQUIP21. For others, lockdown has meant the postponement of planned gatherings.

That is why we are excited to announce that your access to EQUIP21 has been extended until 19 August!

If your event was affected by lockdown, this gives you the opportunity to:
Plan a new gathering before 19 August (subject to your state's restrictions); or
Ensure that you and all group members have ample time to watch while under continued lockdown orders.

You can also add additional women to your registration.

We can't be certain when lockdowns will end, but we want you to know that EQUIP21 access cannot be extended beyond 19 August. If you organised a group with the intention of meeting in person and this can no longer happen, please pass on the login details to all group members so they can access the conference page over the next month.

Below you'll find a reminder of your registration details as well as instructions for accessing the conference. If you need to increase your registration numbers, you can do so by following the 'modify registration' instructions.

We trust that news of extended access is a blessing to you and pray that EQUIP21 is a source of encouragement and growth.

In Christ,
Isobel Lin (EQUIP chair)
