Things Phil Colgan loves about Reach Australia's National Conference:
"I love the teaching, I love the input. Going away with our team to think about what we're doing and how we can do it better - to be challenged by other people - is always wonderful. Being better together, being in community, is an area that we really want to be thinking about and I'm really looking forward to it. Every time I hear Rory I'm challenged. He always takes things in a direction I haven't thought of, so I'm really looking forward to it."
Join Phil and hundreds of gospel workers at Reach Australia's 2023 National Conference. 8-11 May 2023 on NSW's Central Coast.
Phil is the Senior Minister at St George North Anglican Church where he has served for 15 years. He’s married to Victoria and has three children. He loves coaching his son’s cricket team, watching sport and preaching the gospel. Phil is also one of our evening speakers.

“We were live streaming for the first time during Covid and we got this online connection card. It was from a lady called Katrina. We found out she hadn’t been in church for twenty years, and her twenty-four year old daughter had never been to church or known much about Jesus. They were watching every week and people were going on walks with them.
At our second physical gathering the husband came along. He told me, ‘I’ve realised you can’t be a passive Christian. You need to be deeply engaged.’ He’s been coming every week. A couple of months later, we baptised the daughter. The dad has trusted in Jesus as well. That whole family.”
“We’ve seen a couple of people become Christians. We’ve seen a couple of families join who haven’t been in church for a couple of years. We’re really excited that we’re reaching the people we’d been praying to reach.”
In 2021, Village Church was planted in the northern suburbs of Wollongong, NSW with people primarily from Salt Church Wollongong. With 14 other adults and a bunch of kids, they formed a launch team to kick off in September 2021.
Reach Australia have been equipping Tim and Allita Canosa through the church planting process - assessment, coaching, training, and providing support through a network of church planters.
🔥 New churches reach new people 🔥
➡️ The number of Australians attending church each week is less than 10% and the number of people ticking no religion on the census is steadily on the rise.
➡️ There is an urgent need for more churches.
➡️ New churches are five times more effective than established churches at reaching people with the gospel.
➡️ On average there is 1 new Christian per 12 members at a church plant.

"Last Sunday after church we were stoked to gather together, share food and baptise a couple of our people at The Jetty! It's so exciting to see our Anchor family growing and seeing more people on the Coffs Coast come to know Jesus and give their lives to him." - Anchor Church, Coffs Harbour
Tim and Deb Baldwin planted Anchor Church in 2020.

“Donnybrooks is a new suburb. There are 50,000 people moving in over the next 20 years. We still have some paddocks and cows, but lots of people searching for community, lots of young families. They’re making a fresh start in their lives - we want them to make a fresh start with Jesus.”
Ben and Tanya Kelada planted Fresh Start Presbyterian Church in Donnybrook, Melbourne at the beginning of 2021.
“We’ve had a lot of momentum this year. Lots of visitors. The team has been fantastic - small team, but everyone’s on board. We heard that church planting reaches non-Christians. We wanted to use the gifts that God has given us to help reach those people. So we thought, let’s give church planting a go. Pray that God keeps sustaining us. Pray for more workers for the harvest to come help us reach Donnybrook.”
It’s been a joy to support Ben and Tanya through the planting assessment process.
Ben Kelada shared his reflections at Reach Australia’s National Conference earlier this year. Join hundreds of gospel workers at next year’s conference from May 8-11 2023 on the Central Coast of NSW.
It’s been a joy walking alongside Dave Lanham and the team at Frenchs Forest Anglican in Sydney. How great is it to celebrate their recent baptisms at Manly Dam!
It's so beautiful to see new people come to know Jesus and find new life in him 😭

What value does an executive pastor bring to a church? Is it really pastoring? What are the triggers that would prompt a church to hire for this role?
Hear from Peter Blanch and Scott Sanders on The One Thing podcast this week.

“We had a lot of interviews on stage, hearing about different ministries, churches, and church plants.
Everyone's got that same hunger wanting to see salvations - wanting to see people worship the Lord Jesus.
We're all on the same page as we're 800 people here singing praises to Jesus, and all on the same mission, wanting to reach Australia. I'm really encouraged by that.”
Mikey Tai is the Lead Pastor at Providence Presbyterian Church, Brisbane.

We’re an Australian church planting network that aims to see hundreds of new churches started across the country. We recruit, assess and strengthen church planters to evangelise new churches into existence. Together, we can see new churches reach new people with the gospel.
The vision of Geneva Push is to see hundreds of new churches evangelised into existence across Australia. Together we can do more for the sake of Jesus and God’s glory around the world. Our shared vision is accomplished in obedience to Jesus’ great commission (Matt. 28:18-20) in the context of churches equipping people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up (Eph 4:11-16).
We have three purpose areas:
Recruit – Recruiting men & women to establish healthy church planting churches.
Assess – Providing effective and rigorous assessment of potential church planters church planting couples who establish healthy churches ready to plant new churches.
Strengthen – Developing a generous network growing in character, conviction and the competency to establish healthy churches ready to plant new churches across Australia through a genuine peer network, effective coaching and quality resourcing.
