The DORMITION SHROUD, features a meticulously worked traditional icon, embroidered entirely by hand in rich silver and gold threads. The pictured shroud is made of wine coloured velvet and features a border of delicate grape vines, edged in gold bullion fringe and lined with gold taffeta. The following hymn is embroidered in gold thread in Greek;

Ἀπόστολοι ἐκ περάτων, συναθροισθέντες ἐνθάδε, Γεθσημανῆ τῷ χωρίῳ, κηδεύσατέ μου τὸ σῶμα, καὶ σύ, Υἱὲ καὶ Θεέ μου, παράλαβέ μου τὸ πνεῦμα.

The lettering can be done in any language including English, Slavonic, Serbian, Romanian and others.
