JULY & AUGUST YOUTH WRAP UP!

Winter is now gone and we now welcome this beautiful Spring weather! 😍 🌺 ☀️
July and August included 2 awesome events for our youth.

Our July event, the youth went Ice Skating at Macquarie Park Ice Rink where we met at the Ice Rink and spent a good time trying not to fall over before we eventually got the hang of the stride 😆 After Ice Skating we shared some time together over some Boost Juices and delicious donuts! 🍩 We hope to do this again next winter!

In August and most recently, we decided to hold a baking event held at Rev Shin Goo’s house, where we split into 2x teams, one team to bake cookies (Choc Chip and White Chocolate Chip) 🍪 and the other team to bake some brownies (Choc Fudge and Blonde Brownies! 🍰 This was a special Youth Event as it included 3 of our Youth member’s 16th Birthday Celebration in Ofa, Talita and Aiden who shared birthdays around the same date 🥳🙌🏾

We shared some cake, cookies, brownies and ice cream over a warm bonfire in Shin Goo’s backyard, enjoying each other’s company 😌

We now look to Saturday September 21st for our Bushwalking Youth Event which will be at Davidson Park from 2-4:30pm! More details to come soon so stay tuned 😇

TRIVIA NIGHT OF FUN! 🤩🤓

Our June Youth Event took a slight turn of events where we had initially planned for a night out to the city to see the VIVID light show but unfortunately the weather had different plans!

Not to worry, we enjoyed a fun night of Trivia and Board Games testing our general knowledge skills of countries, flags, animals and anime shows as well as our investor skills in a game of Monopoly 🎲 Still a great turnout and the kids enjoyed their time amongst each other laughing and playing 😊

IT’S A FEAST! 😊😋😋

As the winter cold arrives, this past month’s Youth gathering included some delicious food (a fan favourite) + some popcorn/snacks. We decided to stay indoors and watched the movie Evan Almighty which is a family comedy based loosely on the bible story of Noah’s Ark.

The main message from this movie is that an individual has the power to change the world through one act of random kindness (ARK). The movie builds on values such as trust, kindness, self-sacrifice, perseverance, and environmental awareness. 😇

It also symbolises the responsibility that comes with a position of power’, and what families can do to be closer together. 🤍

TEN-PIN BOWLING + ARACDE = 🤩

Our April event was a great success and filled with all kinds of fun and food 🤗 This month the youth gathered for a game of ten-pin bowling which saw some of us cheering for joy and some of us (mostly the adults 😆) seeking bowling form and technique guides after the game 🤣

It was also great to see some new faces who joined us this month thanks to some of our Youth extending the invitation to some of their school friends 😇

After our game, the Youth enjoyed some arcade time shooting basketballs, playing each other in ice hockey, race car games and more! We then finished off with some well-earned pizza at Church 🤤 🍕

MARCH EVENT WRAPPED UP! 🐣 🍫 🐰 + APRIL EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT 🎳🤩

Last month wrapped up our Easter themed Youth Gathering held on the 15th of March at St David’s. The Youth Group first shared dinner together which involved some delicious pizzas 🍕 🤤 and catching up with how everyone has been going at school etc.,before beginning our Easter Themed Activities.

We thought it would be a good idea to show the youth a nice condensed and short video overview of what Easter means to for our faith so they could learn and understand the story of Jesus’ crucifixion and his rise to glory 3 Days Later.

We followed this up by small discussion of Good Friday and the Stations of The Cross and handed out colouring paper which had photos of different stations of the cross that Jesus had walked. The kids coloured their hearts out! Each paper expressed a different style and feeling towards how they felt about Good Friday.

We finished by displayed everyone’s colouring paper for the congregation to see during morning tea and shortly discussed our next event which will be held tomorrow night at 6pm starting at St David’s and then the DY RSL for a fun night of Ten Pin Bowling! Hope to see you there!

OUR FIRST YOUTH EVENT OF 2024 ✅🤍

A fun afternoon in the sun! Our Youth spent their first event of the year down the road at Collaroy Beach for some outdoor activities whilst the sun was still around! ☀️

We started our Sunday afternoon at around noon time and first shared some lunch together gratefully prepared by before getting into some ball activities with the volleyball and footy ball 🏐 🏉 It definitely got competitive once we saw the Rev. have a run around 🤣👌🏽

One highlight of the afternoon was the ‘Human Knot’ game whereby each person would stand in a small circle and grab the opposite persons hand with the goal of untangling themselves by way of communication and careful strategy 🤔 This one definitely took some time 😅

And it wasn’t a beach day without some swimming! We finished off with a swim in the pools followed by some seashell hunting by some of the young boys 🧐 What a way to start the year!

Join the St David’s DY Youth Group for our first Youth Gathering for 2024!

With weather permitting, this months Youth Event will be held this Sunday 11th at Collaroy Beach from 11am to 4pm. Join us for some fun activities, a dip in the water and the enjoyment of food and company!

Keep in mind we will have another fun plan of action should the weather change 😊

CHRISTMAS IS HERE! 🎄🥳

Join us this coming Friday 15th for our Christmas themed Youth Gathering which will be held in our St David’s Hall from 6:30pm to 8:30pm! Together we will have a Christmas Feast, fun games including team-building activities and gift giving, and we will also sing a couple of Christmas Carols 🎶

🩵 OUR FIRST YOUTH EVENT 🩵

Last Friday we held our very first Youth Gathering for our St. David’s Youth! It was a joyous night filled with laughter, food and fun activities for all to enjoy 😁

Starting off, our Youth Workers Paul and Alisi ran through some ice-breaker games so that everyone in the group could get to know some interesting facts about one another and perhaps find some things in common 🙌🏾

We then shared dinner together prepared for us by our lovely congregation members before breaking into some more activities which included a spelling bee contest to really test our knowledge 😆 and then a team-working/collaboration activity that involved building the highest tower using only spaghetti sticks and marshmallows (which were put to good use after 🤤)
