Great to see a school implementing SRE so effectively across a range of faiths, contributing to the social cohesion of the school.

If you are aware of a situation of religious bullying in a school, there is now an hotline that can help this be investigated and resolved - click through to the article to read more about it.

Northbourne Public School has been awarded for its work in building social cohesion though religious education in a multifaith setting, Pascal Adolphe reports.

Thanks to Mark Coure - he is a great friend to the faith communities. His work in supporting people of faith and the recognition of faith community heroes serving their communities in COVID is greatly appreciated. Mark is a great example of a Minister using his influence to inspire the community to care for each other and make NSW a better place now and into the future.

Thank you to Murray Norman and Better Balanced Futures for putting on a wonderful and celebratory evening commending our religious leaders and educators, who are vital contributors to teaching the values of tolerance and interfaith understanding to our next generation of young leaders.

Through cooperation, collaboration and communication, you demonstrate that compassion and tolerance are universal values to which we must all abide.

Launch of the book “Special Religious Education in Australia and its Value to Contemporary Society”

The contributions of Professor Zehavit Gross with her colleague, Professor Emerita Suzanne Rutland, have revolutionised the thinking within the government and educational circles in Australia.

One of the strengths of Australia is our multicultural society that brings together people from all parts of the world - many different cultures and religious beliefs, living, learning and working together for the good of our nation. This book lights up the path of welcoming people and allowing them to live peacefully together, through acknowledging the important role of faith in the lives of many. It covers the significant benefits allowing students to learn about their own faith and the beliefs of others through religious education, and also the importance of teaching respect and addressing religious vilification and bullying with positivity strategies for restoration and growth.

We’d like to sincerely thank our presenters at our recent webinars: 'Supporting our communities during the COVID lockdown'.
We received high quality, practical advice from faith/community leaders, politicians from the Government and Opposition and Dr Marianne Gale, Deputy Chief Health Officer.
As we continue follow the current lockdown restrictions let’s use this time as an opportunity to continue to engage, educate and encourage each other across our communities.
