As we begin the Apostles’ Fast today, we remember that after receiving the Holy Spirit, the apostles did not rush into the world relying on their own strength. They fasted, prayed, and depended fully on God before beginning their mission. Fasting is not simply about giving something up; it is about making room in our hearts for Christ. Just as the apostles prepared themselves to carry God to the world, we too are invited to prepare our hearts so we can carry Christ in our daily lives through love, prayer, kindness, and service.

As Saint John Chrysostom says:
“Fasting is the change of every part of our life, because the sacrifice of fasting is not the abstinence from food alone, but the distancing from sins.”

May this fast be a time where we grow closer to God and allow Him to transform us from the inside out. ❤️

Blessed Feast of Pentecost 🙏🏽

Today we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles, the birth of the Church, and the fulfillment of Christ’s promise: “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you” (Acts 1:8)

As Coptic Orthodox Christians, Pentecost reminds us that the same Holy Spirit who descended in the Upper Room continues to dwell in the Church, sanctifying, guiding, and strengthening us in our journey toward Christ.

St. Athanasius the Apostolic said:"The Holy Spirit unites us to God; through Him we become partakers of the divine nature."

May the Holy Spirit renew our hearts, strengthen our faith, and fill us with His peace, wisdom, and love.

"Come, O Holy Spirit, and dwell within us."

In the Orthodox Tradition, the Holy “50” days are the days from the Feast of Resurrection to the Feast of Pentecost, including the Feast of Ascension in between. These are three out of the seven Major Feasts.

The Church celebrates the Feast of the Ascension on Thursday, the fortieth day in the Holy Fifty Days. On this day, the Lord ascended by His divine power to Heaven and sat at the right hand of the Father.

It is always accompanied by the same liturgy as the Resurrection, and a procession here commemorates the journey of Jesus to the Mount of Olives from which he went to Heaven.

Today we remember the journey of the Apostle Thomas—from doubt to a powerful declaration of faith, “My Lord and my God.” This day reminds us that questions and struggles don’t separate us from God—they can lead us closer to Him when we seek with sincerity.

The lesson we take with us: don’t let doubt discourage you—let it deepen your faith. Christ meets us where we are and strengthens us along the way.

Resurrection Sunday ✝️

Christ is risen. Truly He is risen.
Xristos Anesti! Alithos Anesti!

Today is the day of victory, joy, and new life. The tomb is empty, death is defeated, and hope is restored. What began in sorrow has been transformed into eternal joy.

Through His resurrection, Christ has given us life, renewing our hearts and opening the way to salvation. Darkness has been overcome, and light now reigns.

This is not just a moment in history, but a promise for each of us. That life conquers death. That hope overcomes despair. That with Him, we are made new.

As we celebrate today, may our hearts be filled with joy, peace, and unshakable faith.

Joyous Saturday ✝️

Today we wait in hope.

Christ has descended into Hades, breaking its gates and trampling down death. What seemed like silence is actually victory unfolding. He is freeing those who were bound and bringing light into the darkness.

Joyous Saturday reminds us that even when all feels still, God is working. Even in the depths, He brings life.

This is the day between sorrow and resurrection. A day of quiet anticipation, trust, and hope in what is to come.

As we wait, may our hearts be filled with faith, knowing that death has no power, and victory is near.

“Arise, O Lord, and let Your enemies be scattered.” ✝️

Good Friday ✝️

Today we remember the Cross.
Christ was mocked, beaten, and crucified, yet He remained silent, offering Himself in complete love for us. He carried the Cross willingly, not because He had to, but because He chose to.

This is the day love was made visible. A love that endures suffering. A love that gives without holding back.

We do not rush past this day. We sit in it. We reflect. We remember the price that was paid.

As we stand at the Cross, may our hearts be filled with humility, repentance, and gratitude.

“For our sake He was crucified.” ✝️

Covenant Thursday

Today we remember the Last Supper, where Christ gave us the greatest gift of love and unity. He offered His Body and Blood, establishing the new covenant and inviting us into deep communion with Him.

We also remember how He humbled Himself, washing the feet of His disciples and teaching that true greatness is found in serving others with love.

Covenant Thursday is a call to live a life of sacrifice, humility, and selfless love. To give as He gave. To serve as He served.

As we continue through Holy Week, may we approach Him with reverence, gratitude, and a heart ready to love others as He loves us.

“Do this in remembrance of Me.” ✝️
