In these Advent days, we prepare our hearts and remember the coming of Christ—the Light of the world. Yet the darkness around us can feel overwhelming. The tragedies remind us how fragile life is.

But the Word of God is clear: the true Light has come. Jesus shines brightest not when the world is easy, but when the world is broken. His light pierces despair, comforts the grieving, and reminds us that evil does not have the final word.

When we are in Christ, we are not swallowed by darkness—we walk in His light. To follow Jesus is to carry His presence into hurting places: to be gentle when anger rises, to be hopeful when fear spreads, to be compassionate when grief weighs heavy.

Advent is not sentimental decoration—it is the declaration that Immanuel has come. And because He is here, the darkness cannot overcome the light.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, Light of the world, shine into the brokenness of our city and our hearts. Comfort those who mourn, strengthen those who fear, and teach us to walk as children of light. May Your presence be our hope. Amen.

[5]For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. [6] We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. [7] For one who has died has been set free from sin. [8] Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. [9] We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. [10] For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. [11] So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.Romans 6:5-11 ESV

Baptism is a powerful symbol of leaving behind the old and stepping into a life of grace. An outward expression of an inward change.

We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. Romans 6:4

If there's one thing we can be confident of in this life, it's that God loves us. Happy Easter Sunday everyone!

It is written that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness will be filled. And it makes sense, because God, you are righteous and if we hunger and thirst for you, we will be filled with you! :)
