Lao Dhamma School Lao Dhamma School is a Sunday School that teaches the Dhamma-the teachings of the Lord Buddha. Children of all nationalities are welcome!

All classes are conducted in the English language and suitable for children from 6 to 16 years of age.

Buddhist Lent for southeast asian Buddhists started last Sunday, 5 July 2020. Lent is a time for self reflection and deep contemplation of our faith and when we can practice it with the abstinence of something (usually alcohol for adults but it could be anything else for other people), then in reminds us of our mortality, desires and attachment to things which is the cause of suffering. So when we are back in control and can learn to let go of our attachments, then we can live a purer and simpler life. Metta to all!

πŸ™ Today is Vesak Day and one of the most important festivals for all Buddhists. It is important because this day falls on the full moon day of May and signifies Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and death. Buddhists all around the world celebrate it in their own way but this year will especially different due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

Please take some time today to reflect on what the Buddha has taught us, his teachings - the Dhamma and how his teachings can help us arise from this pandemic as stronger, more compassionate resilient human beings. Metta to all and may you stay safe and strong. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™
