Sunday Service Recap

Title: Fear of the Lord
We were greatly encouraged by God's word through our dear Pastor B. Sanchez's preaching last Mother's Day. And last Sunday, we continued to learn and grow through the same powerful message on The Fear of the Lord. As we reflect on this topic, may the Lord once again speak to our hearts and strengthen our faith 🙏

📖Main text: Psalms 112:1-3, Proverbs 22:4, Psalms 36:8-10, Psalms 25:12-14, Psalms 115:12-13

_______

🔑The key for us to be bless by the Lord is the fear of the Lord.
God reminded us that for us to have a blessed new beginning the foundation of all things should be the fear of the Lord.
We need the fear of the Lord for us to receive mercy and deliverance. There's a blessing attached to it.

🔥Blessed is the name who fears the Lord
(Psalms 112:1-3)

_______

🙏Fear God and Be Blessed
Gen. 22:11-12, Gen 22:15-18 - The Story of Abraham
God found Abraham that he feared the Lord, He bless Abraham, multiplied and bless his descendants

🔥Fearing God = Obeying Him -> Blessings

_______

📖In psalms 112:1-3, we learn 4 things:

1.You are blessed
- When God said that you are bless you can't contest this.
- Blessed is the man who fears the Lord
- Conditions:
a. Delight greatly in God's commandments - Like Abraham in Genesis 12:1, he obeyed as the Lord has spoken

b. Obedience - made a covenant with the Lord by obeying God's commandment to be circumcised and his whole household.
We can see that Abraham's delight is in the will of the Lord
📖Genesis 17:9-10, 26-2

c. Take action - when God commanded Abraham to offer Isaac. Abraham heard God and he immediately took action.
Abraham delights in God's commandments even thought it might cost him his son
📖Genesis 22:1-3

❓Reflection: Do you delight in the will of the Lord?

_______

2. Your generations will be blessed
- The generation of the upright will be blessed
the promise of the Lord is not only for us but for our children also
- God is calling everyone to be His disciple because God wants us to know His promises and the blessing of this promise will also overflow to our children.
📖Psalms 25:12-14
_______

3. You are blessed with riches and wealth
- there are blessings attached in the fear of the Lord
📖Genesis 13:2, Genesis 24:35, Genesis 24:1
- if we want to be blessed, let's go back to the basics: Blessed is the man who fears the Lord
_______

4. You are blessed with righteousness that endures forever
- in the book of Isaiah: our good works are filthy rags in the sight of God, our own righteousness is not enough in the sight of God, that is why He sent His own righteousness.
📖Isaiah 64:6, Romans 4:3
- when Abraham heard, even though he hasn't seen it yet, he believed
- when God blessed you be careful not to idolized those blessings
- we have to use all the blessings that we received
- we have to be a blessing to others
📖Hebrews 11:17-19, Romans 3:21-22
- God used the life of Abraham as an example, as a testimony
- one of the blessings we received in fearing God is a righteousness that endures forever
- when we fear God, we obey God
- the righteousness of God is Jesus Christ (John 14:6)
- Have faith first in Jesus Christ then we do works
- Fear God and be blessed
📖Galatians 3:16, Galatians 3:29
- We are children of Abraham by faith and co-heirs of his blessings through Christ
📖Romans 10:8-10
_______

🔥Abraham believed God and God counted it as righteousness.

🌿 Reflection:
How about you? What do you believe? Do you believe in Jesus Christ?
Being blessed is more than a feeling, more than what you see, feel or think, more than what you desire.

🙏✝✨Being bless is when God dwell in your heart, it is when you walk in the spirit, hear God's voice and you obey.

Maybe your heart has been tired lately.
Maybe life has been loud.
Maybe you’ve been carrying things silently.

Come sit under the Word again.
Come be reminded of what is true.
Come look to Christ again.

This Sunday, our doors are open—and more importantly, the Lord is gracious.

🌸 Sunday Service Recap
“Fear God and You Will Be Praised”
📖 Proverbs 31:10–31

Last Sunday, we were blessed by the powerful message shared by our very own Pastor B as we reflected on what truly makes a woman praised, blessed, and virtuous in the eyes of God.

We also had a special and heartfelt moment during the service as we celebrated Mother’s Day with a presentation dedicated to all the mothers and mother figures in our church. 💐

The message reminded us that the virtuous woman in Proverbs 31 is praised not merely because of her abilities, but because she fears the Lord.

A virtuous woman is one who upholds godly standards and lives a life anchored in reverence and obedience to God.

One important reminder shared to mothers was this:
Teach your children the ways of the Lord. Speak blessings over them. Let the Word of God cover them and guide them, for His Word gives wisdom and direction.

📖 1 Timothy 4:1–2 warns us that in the last days, deceiving spirits will cause many to fall away from the faith.

This is why the fear of the Lord is so important.

📖 Deuteronomy 10:12–13 reminds us that God requires us to fear Him, walk in His ways, love Him, and serve Him wholeheartedly.

The fear of the Lord should be the very foundation of our love, our homes, and our lives.

The reality today is that morality in the world continues to decline because many no longer fear God.

Pastor B also shared 3 things the church must do in these times:

🔹 Ask God for mercy
📖 Psalm 103:11
📖 Lamentations 3:22–23

God’s mercy is great toward those who fear Him.

🔹 Ask God for deliverance
📖 Psalm 33:18–19
📖 Psalm 34:6–7

We must continually seek God’s protection and deliverance from the enemy.

🔹 Ask God for cleansing
📖 Psalm 19:9
📖 2 Corinthians 7:1

As children of God, we should desire purity and holiness before Him.

One beautiful reminder from the message was this:
As our Father, God is pleased when His children ask for His help—because it shows that we recognize our need for Him.

📖 Isaiah 11:1–2 tells us that even Jesus delighted in the fear of the Lord.

📖 Hebrews 5:7–9 reminds us that though Jesus is the Son of God, He humbled Himself in obedience and reverence before the Father.

The fear of the Lord is not something to avoid—it is something holy, life-giving, and necessary.

🌿 Final Reflection:
Have we truly accepted Jesus Christ as the Author of our salvation?
And are we living with a genuine fear of the Lord?

🙏 May we continue to walk in reverence, obedience, and love for God in these last days.

Happy Sunday! Before we start this beautiful morning, let's take a moment to reflect on last Sunday's preaching.

03 May 2026
Preacher: Sis. Christine Cañadido

Main Text: Hebrews 11:1–40

📚 Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Our hope is built of faith.
Faith is the stuff for which our hope is made of.

🧠 Hope is like the molecule and Faith is the atom
It is an assurance that is based on evidence.

🙏 Unseen things like air/wind are proven by our faith because we are certain of their existence

🙏 Biblical faith believes that the firm evidence written in the bible is supplied by God

____________________

📖 Hebrews 11:3 - By faith we understand that the world was framed by the Word of God.
- By faith we understand, through faith we come into a super natural understanding that all of creations from the beginning of creation up to the end of eternity is created by the word of God.

📖 Rhema of God - the word of God that He spoke and it is dynamic and living; it moves and has a life, not just a collection of letters but a breathe of God that actually changes and creates things.

- Faith gives us the ability to comprehend. We believe that God's word is true, that the tangible cosmos/universe that we exist in not made out of what already exist but is made of what is unseen for us.

📖 Examples: Creation Scientists
- they believe that if you based your scientific research on what the bible says you will have more comprehensive understanding of how the universe works.

- Isaac Newton: "This most beautiful system of the sun, planets and comets, could only proceed from the counsel and dominion of an intelligent Being. This Being governs all things, not as the soul of the world, but as the Lord over all; the supreme God is a being eternal , infinite and absolutely perfect.

- Dmitri Mendeleev: had a dream and revelation of God of order, who is in control of creation. He is able to hypothesize that there is an order in the elements (periodic table of elements)

📖 We as a church is not only isolated in the church. Our faith speaks not only in spiritual matters but in economics, in politics, in science, in every aspects of daily living.

📖 HALL OF FAITH - Hebrews 11:4-

1. Abel — had a faith that leads to excellent worship based on righteousness. A faith that's speaks in generation, a faith that is pleasing to God's sight.
Cain's offering was not accepted because there was something wrong with his heart; his heart is wicked.

2. Enoch - had a faith that pleases God.
Without faith, it is impossible to please God.
- He who comes to God must believe that He is, that He exist, that He is the " I am ".
- Faith that when you believe God, you believe that you cannot exist unless God is there. A faith that you cannot move unless God moved, you cannot be called unless God calls you. Believe that He is the very essence of existence and that when you come to Him, He will respond to you.

3. Noah - had a faith that produces Godly fear.
- His obedience was pleasing to God. He did not take God for granted and was reverend to what God was telling to Him.

4. Abraham - had a faith that lead him to obedience.
- He hold on to God's promise. He believes that God is sovereign. He died never having the title of the land but he died knowing that the promise is there. His assurance was Isaac was born.
- He had a faith that withstands testing and is counted as righteousness

5. Sarah - by faith she received the strength to conceive.
- Sarah's faith is lead by the faith of Abraham
- Encouragement: a husband's faith leads the faith of the wife. When you follow the Lord, your household follows the Lord.

6. Isaac - by faith he believed that the blessing he released was meant to reach the person for which it was meant to be
- He bless Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
- He believed that the blessing belongs to God and can only be released through him.

7. Jacob - had a faith that blesses according to God's will. A faith that leads to worship

8. Joseph - had a faith that dictates future plans and instructions.
- He only had the faith that he heard from his father's grandfathers that eventually they will go back to the land of promise even though he doesn't have any assurances but just the promises from the Lord.

8. Moses - had faith that cast out fear; had a faith that chooses suffering that leads to eternity rather than the pleasures of sin.
- had a faith that endures
- had a faith that lead to miracles

9. Joshua - had a faith that breaks down walls

10. Rahab - had a faith that gave her salvation

11. Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, David and Samuel and the prophets - had faith that conquers.

12. Others, unnamed heroes - had faith that endures suffering and trials of every kind.

____________________

🔥 These people only see the shadow of the promise that is to come but their faith sustained them until the end.
The greatest reward: God is not ashamed to be called their God.

🌿 When God sees your faith, suffering, sacrifices, rejections, doubts we have to overcome, victory that we get through our faith, every wall that we breakdown, every attack that we conquer. He sees all that and says that He is not afraid to be called our God and He has prepared a city for us.

____________________

Hebrews 12:1-2

🔥 We have a full hall of faithful witness, named and unnamed, they endured every kind of sufferings. They are already at the finish line, just waiting for the day of rapture. The story of their lives are the cheerleading that we hear as we ran the race. It is the encouragement that we hear as we continue to run.

🌿 If their lives are not enough just look at the biggest encourager... JESUS ✝️
- He is at the end of the finish line. He started the run and finish the run.

🌟 Encouragement:

- Let us run and not allow the bo***ge of sin to stop us. We may stumble and fall but rise up again and run. If we see our brothers and sisters falling, let us pick them up and run together.

- Let us aim to be a part of the cloud of witnesses. So when it's time for the next generation to run the race, we are there at the side of the race track and see our lives that we have also endures and kept the faith.

- We are pilgrims on the journey of a narrow road, and those who were before us they line the way. And those who are behind us, are still growing and still figuring out how the race works. Let us show them how it's done

📜 Let’s be faithful because our God is faithful.

The race is not never ending, it has an end and at the end there is our Lord who is to come and ready to say that He is not ashamed to be our God and will say " Welcome, my good and faithful servant" 🏆 🙏
