Hear the Shofar at Nefesh

This year, there’s only one day to hear the shofar.
With the first day of Rosh Hashanah falling on Shabbat, Sunday is the day to fulfil the central Rosh Hashanah mitzvah.

So if you come for one thing this year, make it this.
Come hear the shofar, make the moment special, and share it with the community.

Sunday 13 September — 11:15 am, 1:00 pm or 4:30 pm.
Everyone is welcome.

The Nefesh kids love Lego, and we’re collecting as much as possible to create a Lego space upstairs in a closed room, especially for the older kids.

If you have any Lego at home that your children have outgrown or no longer use, we would love for you to donate it to the shul and give it a new life. We’re specifically looking for small piece Lego suitable for ages 5 and up.

It doesn’t need to be a complete set, loose pieces are very welcome too!

The Nefesh kids will be very, very happy and entertained for hours!

Ten years ago, Gabe discovered a family secret: his family was Jewish.

For years he searched for what that meant, but he was too scared to walk into a Jewish community. What if he wasn't accepted? What if he didn't belong?

Eventually he came to Nefesh.

Today, it's his home.

This is why our Giving Day theme is **"Be Their Way In."**

Because there are people like Gabe all around us, looking for connection, community and belonging.

Help us keep the door open:

Every week, people arrive at Nefesh searching for connection, identity, friendship, meaning, or simply somewhere they feel understood.

Why has one tiny people had such a massive impact on the world?

And what actually is a Jew — a religion, a nation, a family, or something else entirely?

The first class of our new series, What It Means to Be Jewish, is now available to listen to.

You know you’re Jewish—but what does that actually mean?

Rabbi Moss is running a 5-week series exploring the big ideas behind Jewish identity, belief, and purpose. No background needed, no assumptions, just honest, thoughtful conversations.

If you’ve ever been curious but never really had the chance to explore, this is a great place to start with a rabbi who has been there.

Starts May 5.
