Woolloomooloo Baptist Church We are a rag-tag bunch who place our faith in Jesus and we meet as Woolloomooloo Baptist Church, here in the inner city Sydney suburb of Woolloomooloo.

Hi everyone! Just a quick note to let you know that Hopestreet’s Community Sewing Group has transformed into the ART + NEEDLECRAFT COLLECTIVE! This means that instead of just sewing we will now have a fun roster of creative activities on rotation. Whether we are painting, sewing, knitting, drawing, cross-stitching or collaging - the aim of our group is to get together, have a laugh and get creative! No experience or artistic skills necessary!

We meet at the same time and place: Every Thursday from 10 AM -12 PM @ 130 Dowling St Woolloomooloo – and it’s free!

If you would like to donate any art and needlecraft supplies to our community collective (think: yarn, fabric, needles, hooks, paints, brushes, old magazines etc), please contact Tex: 0482 185 953 or Eddy: 0482 185 952 (Monday - Friday / 9 AM - 2 PM)

If you are an experienced knitter/crocheter, sewist, cross-stitcher, or visual artist, and you would like to volunteer your time to help facilitate this program, we would also love to hear from you!

We had our first Seniors Morning Tea for 2023 (Wednesday, 22 March). A great time was had by all, a great vibe, lotsa tea and coffee, and of course great food! Aysel and Carmel, two of our wonderful community volunteers, planned, prepared and served all the food – While welcoming everyone (Thank you!). We also had 4 Voices join us and talk about the great services they provide (Wednesday mornings, outside the HopeStreet Café). We received some lovely feedback from one of the attendees: ‘Thank you for your efforts re setting up venue for age celebrations. You were actively providing tea and coffee and bringing people together. Much appreciated.’
