Celebrating heritage at Woronora Memorial Park – Heritage Day 2025 🌿

As part of the Sutherland Shire Citizens' Heritage Festival, we were delighted to welcome the community to Woronora Memorial Park over the weekend for a day of connection, learning and celebration.

With this year’s National Trust Australia (NSW) theme, ‘Unearthed’, visitors had the rare opportunity to explore areas of the memorial park not usually open to the public. Guided tours of our historic crematorium and art deco chapels offered a closer look at Woronora’s 130-year legacy of architecture and culture.

A special thank you to the SHIRE MILITARY HISTORY CLUB for running multiple history tours and sharing fascinating stories from our local past. We also thank the Australian Plants Society Sutherland Group, who led a guided walk through Woronora Memorial Park’s unique gardens, showcasing the diverse plant life that thrives across our grounds.

To our wonderful stallholders, the dedicated MMP team and every visitor who joined us—thank you.
