Scripture in Schools (SRE) has kicked off for another term, with a boosted team of volunteers now heading into our local high schools as well!

Let’s pray…
🙌 Give thanks to God for answering our prayers through the Life, Love + Freedom Appeal and raising up more people to teach Scripture.

🩵 Pray for good relationships with local schools and students, that trust would grow and doors would open for new classes in 2027.

📖 Pray for our teams as they help children and teens explore God’s Word and find answers to their spiritual questions in the Bible. Ask God to be at work through every conversation as we seek to connect more young people to the life, love and freedom Jesus offers.

They said a Bible-believing church would never grow in Sydney's secular heartland.

But 15 years after planting Vine Church in Surry Hills with just 12 adults, Toby Neal leads a church community of more 380, with over 160 professions of faith.

Yet the journey has been anything but smooth — hostile media coverage, a controversial merger and a church that suddenly stopped growing.

Senior Pastor and planter Toby Neal says the most confronting discovery was that he himself had become the barrier to further growth — so what went wrong and how did he need to change?

We are celebrating our 15th Birthday and we'd love you to join us this Sunday for a party!

There’ll be paella, cake by and plenty of time to enjoy being together. At 9.15am, the kids can also enjoy party bags and jumping castles.

Alongside all the birthday fun, there’ll also be the all things that happen on any other Sunday at Vine: singing, praying and hearing God speak to us through his word.⁠

Fifteen years ago, Vine Church began in a lounge room with a few friends and an open Bible. We started in the book of Acts, and this Sunday, as we celebrate our 15th birthday, we’re opening it up again.

Over the next seven weeks, we’ll explore our Vision Series, What if we really believed? What happens when we really believe the good news about Jesus? And what might God do through us if we lived like it really is true?

At all three services this Sunday, there’ll be an opportunity for open prayer 🙏 to thank God for his faithfulness over the past 15 years and ask him to do immeasurably more in the years ahead. We’d love you to be part of it.

Then, stick around and celebrate with us! There’ll be paella ($15 per person), cake by and plenty of time to enjoy being together. At 9.15am, the kids can also enjoy party bags and jumping castles.

In Acts, we meet people whose lives were transformed by Jesus. The good news of Jesus didn’t just change what they believed, it changed the way they lived. They welcomed outsiders, gave generously, prayed boldly, spoke about Jesus and kept following him even when it cost them.

Over the following weeks, we will hear about what it would look like for us to have that same conviction, so that what we believe about Jesus shapes our priorities and the way we relate in our homes, workplaces, church and city.

We’re finishing our series in Nehemiah, Rise & Rebuild. The final chapter is a sober picture of the people who had experienced God's hand upon them, received God's word and made sincere commitments to obey.

Join us this Sunday as we consider together what this chapter teaches us about our need for God and what hope we can have for the future.

We’ll be hearing from our student ministers across all three services:

4.30pm — Dan Baker

👉️ We’ll also be sharing the Lord’s Supper together. As we remember Jesus’ body and blood given for us, take some time to prepare your heart for Sunday and come ready to join with your brothers and sisters in Christ.
