It’s hard for a single church in the NSW mid north coast to run a youth camp. Logistics, finances, scale are all against you. A critical mass is needed to make a camp work. None of the Presbyterian churches on the mid north coast had the numbers needed on their own.

But when combined, they were able to run a camp that not only gave youth the chance to hear about Jesus, but also helped them meet and connect with other Christians their own age from other places.

Before you had a single achievement or a plan for next year, God already knew you. He formed you and He wrote out every one of your days with care. You're not an accident or an afterthought. You're known, wanted, and held, right from the very beginning of creation.
Take a moment today to thank Him for how He made you.

Welcome back for Term 4!

Would you join us in lifting up our SRE teachers in prayer as they head back into classrooms across the state this term?

Heavenly Father, we thank you for our dedicated SRE scripture teachers who faithfully serve so the coming generation can know you and love you. Please sustain and empower them for the work ahead. We ask for rich conversations to unfold and for young hearts to be enlightened to the hope of the gospel. Amen.

New research from US Christian research agency Barna found teenage Christians are twice as likely as their non-Christian peers to feel they don't belong in the culture around them. But it also showed how Christian adults (parents, youth groups leaders, church ministers) can help those young Christians treat that tension not as an obstacle to their faith but as an opportunity to grow.
Writing for the Presbyterian Gospel, Society & Culture committee, Kamal Weerakoon unpacks why youth ministries that just build a "happy social community" risk letting young people drift. While ministries that give teens room to wrestle honestly with doubt and count the cost of following Jesus help them strive for the real peace of Christ.

A timely read for anyone leading youth ministry.

When seven-year-old Miles Phillips' Eastern Rosellas song took off, it caught the world by surprise - but it shouldn't surprise us in the church. Kids are capable of amazing things.

"Let the little children come to me... for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these" (Matthew 19:14).

Written by Ed Sowden, Youth Pastor at Bathurst Presbyterian Church, this article is a great reminder to listen to the children and youth in our churches, their questions, ideas, and faith have so much to teach us.

For Anne, The L4L internship provided the reflective space she needed to commit to, and now sustain a demanding, cross-cultural vocation.

By investing in a year of intentionality a decade ago, she has been able to transition from a student with an interest in missions to a specialist serving the global church.
