Brimbank and Maribyrnong Interfaith Network (BMIN) The Brimbank Maribyrnong Interfaith Network (BMIN) Committee is made up of members of various faith groups from the two neighbouring municipalities.

This network is the official platform for religious groups to promote interfaith and intercultural initiatives between different faith and cultural groups in the municipalities of Brimbank and Maribyrnong. It is a joint initiative between Brimbank and Maribyrnong Councils with the support of Victorian Multicultural Commission and Victoria Police.

Guru Nanak Jayanti, also known as Gurpurab is a prominent festival for people who follow Sikhism. This festival is celebrated by Sikhs all across the globe to mark the birth anniversary of their first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev.

The BMIN committee will be hosting the monthly interfaith sessions on Building Equality and Respect with our guest speaker, Deb Mountjoy. Deb is the clinical supervisor of The Sexual Assualt and Family Violence Centre who works in the western areas of Melbourne and Geelong has agreed to be our guest speaker. As well as giving us some insights from the perspective of a worker in this field Deb will speak from the perspective of a person of faith and help us understand our role as faith communities.
