Warm wishes to all the Sikh Community on this auspicious occasion of Gurpurab. May this day bring lots of joy and happiness to everyone's life!

Guru Nanak Jayanti, also known as Gurpurab is a prominent festival for people who follow Sikhism. This festival is celebrated by Sikhs all across the globe to mark the birth anniversary of their first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev.

This year’s Gurpurab is even more special as it will mark the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji. Guru Nanak Dev ji is considered as a preacher of peace and harmony.

We had our guest speaker, Deb Mountjoy from The Sexual Assualt & Family Violence Centre, speaking on creating Respect and Equality from her perspective of a person of faith working in the area of domestic violence.

The BMIN committee will be hosting the monthly interfaith sessions on Building Equality and Respect with our guest speaker, Deb Mountjoy. Deb is the clinical supervisor of The Sexual Assualt and Family Violence Centre who works in the western areas of Melbourne and Geelong has agreed to be our guest speaker. As well as giving us some insights from the perspective of a worker in this field Deb will speak from the perspective of a person of faith and help us understand our role as faith communities.

Last Monday night the BMIN committee hosted two expert trainers from Women's Health West. The 2 hours were focused on Gender Equity Action Planning to see how can we make our spaces more gender equitable? Thank you Women's Health West
