ΑΝΑΚΟΙΝΩΣΗ – ΠΡΟΣΚΛΗΣΗ

Με ιδιαίτερη χαρά ανακοινώνεται ότι την Παρασκευή 18 Σεπτεμβρίου η Ιερά Επισκοπή Χώρας τιμά τη μνήμη του Αγίου Ευμενίου, Επισκόπου Γορτύνης, ημέρα κατά την οποία άγει τα ονομαστήριά του ο Θεοφιλέστατος Επίσκοπος
Χώρας κ. Ευμένιος.

Οι εορταστικές Ιερές Ακολουθίες θα τελεστούν στον Ιερό Καθεδρικό Ναό της Παναγίας «Άξιον Εστίν» στο Northcote -
7 Hartington Street.

Πέμπτη 17 Σεπτεμβρίου, 6:30 μ.μ.
Μέγας Αρχιερατικός Εσπερινός
Θα ακολουθήσει δεξίωση στην αίθουσα για όλους.

Παρασκευή 18 Σεπτεμβρίου, από 7:30 π.μ.
Όρθρος και Αρχιερατική Θεία Λειτουργία
Θα ακολουθήσει δεξίωση στην αίθουσα για όλους.

Στις ιερές ακολουθίες θα προεξάρχει ο Θεοφιλέστατος Επίσκοπος Χώρας κ.Ευμένιος ο οποίος άγει τα ονομαστήριά του.

Καλείται ο ευσεβής λαός να συμμετάσχει στην εορτή, να τιμήσει τον Άγιο Ευμένιο και να συμπροσευχηθεί με τον εορτάζοντα Επίσκοπό μας.

ANNOUNCEMENT – INVITATION

With great joy, it is announced that on Friday 18 September, the Holy Diocese of Chora will celebrate the Feast of St Evmenios, Bishop of Gortyna, on which occasion His Grace Bishop Evmenios of Chora also celebrates his Name Day.

The festal services will be held at the Cathedral church of Our Lady “Axion Estin”, Northcote - 7 Hartington Street.

Thursday 17 September, 6:30 pm
Great Hierarchical Vespers
A reception will follow in the Cathedral function room for all.

Friday 18 September, from 7:30 am
Matins and Hierarchical Divine Liturgy
A reception will follow in the Cathedral function room for all.

His Grace Bishop Evmenios of Chora will preside over the services.

The faithful are warmly invited to participate in the Feast, honour St Evmenios and join in prayer with His Grace on the occasion of his Name Day.

The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, Holy Diocese of Chora, warmly invites the faithful and wider public to a special evening at the Cathedral of Our Lady Axion Estin, Northcote, with internationally renowned Orthodox biblical scholar, author and educator, Presvytera Dr Jeannie Constantinou.

On Thursday, 23 July 2026 at 7.00 pm, Presvytera Jeannie will present the thought provoking topic:

THINKING ORTHODOXY
Understanding and Acquiring the Orthodox Christian Mind

Widely known for her acclaimed Search the Scriptures Bible study series and her influential book Thinking Orthodox, Presvytera Jeannie has dedicated more than four decades to teaching and lecturing on Holy Scripture, Early Christianity and the Orthodox faith.

A distinguished scholar with an exceptional academic background in theology, biblical studies, patristics and law, she has studied at leading institutions including Harvard Divinity School and Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, and taught Biblical Studies and Early Christianity at the University of San Diego for twenty years.

This special presentation will explore what it truly means to acquire an Orthodox Christian mind and how the faith and living tradition of the Church shape the way we understand Scripture, discern truth and respond to the challenges of contemporary life.

This is a rare opportunity to hear, in person here in Melbourne, one of today’s most engaging Orthodox voices in an evening that promises to be insightful, challenging and deeply enriching.
