This Saturday, join us for dinner at 5:30pm and carols by the campfire from 6:30pm.

We'll be helping Carlos the puppet discover that christmas isn't all about him, but a time to celebrate the birth or our lord and saviour, Jesus.

Stay after for tea, coffee and toasted marshmallows.

This Sunday, we're starting our new series on the book of Leviticus. Now you might expect something dull, boring and irrelevant to 21st century Aussies like us. But God must have put this book in the bible for a reason. So, what’s that reason? Isn’t Leviticus just a bunch of gross instructions on how to butcher things, splash their blood around and depressing rules about not eating bacon? Besides, we’re NT Christians and love bacon (mostly). Why are we even bothering with this ancient book of rules that we no longer need to follow any more?

Well, I’m hoping in this series to get you as excited as I am about the place of Leviticus in God’s story! A grand story that is actually a continuation of Creation and points forward to glorious culmination in Heaven, the New Creation. I’m hoping to show you that Leviticus lays out before us the grand mission of God for his people to live with him. It contains all of the major themes of the whole bible story, giving us a deep and overarching understanding that we now take part in this same mission, the good news that God is providing a way for us to live in his holy presence.

To get the most out of this series, I recommend you do three things:

1. Read the whole of Leviticus. It’ll take about 2 hours. In less than 18 minutes a day you could have it read in one week.
2. Watch an 8 min video. The Bible Project has put together and excellent video that gives us an overview of Leviticus. Understanding the clever structure of this book and how it fits in the Pentateuch and bible as a whole will help you see the incredible importance of this book in understanding God and our relationship with him. Watch it here: https://bibleproject.com/guides/book-of-leviticus/
3. Join others on the journey. Join others in a small group to study, fellowship, worship and pray together about how to understand and apply what we learn each week into our lives. This is a great opportunity to join a Home Group.

Everybody welcome! Just come along on Sunday - 9.30am @ 14a Leslie Parade, Stanthorpe (just down from the big thermometer)

There's so many things we deeply desire in our lives as followers of Jesus. We want abiding peace, a heart filled with God’s love, a faith that sees everything (even failures and losses) in light of God’s governance for good and a hope that endures even the most discouraging circumstances. But, the change required to enjoy all of these things can be so hard! Well, for the next nine weeks, we’re going to be using a book written by James Bryson Smith called 'The Good and Beautiful God'.

We'll be reading a chapter together each week and learning how to be better apprentices of Jesus. We'll be learning how to be more like Jesus by discovering the profound character of God and in light of this replacing our false narratives with Jesus narratives, doing 'soul training' to cement these new truths in, and doing all of this together as a church family in community.

So, come along! Everyone is welcome. :-)

Looking for a place to celebrate Easter? You're very welcome to join our church family. On Thursday night 17th April at 7pm we'll have a Maundy Thursday Tenebrae service. During this service, we will be reminded of the story leading up to the crucifixion of Jesus by simply hearing it retold straight from the bible. We'll leave the church at the end of the service in darkness and silence, thinking about what it might have been like for the disciples of Jesus that dreadful night. But, we come back on Sunday at 9.30am to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus! The only one who has conquered dead. Wonderful proof that what Jesus said was true! There is life and hope for those who give their life to Jesus. 🙂

Here's a link to their discussion on what it means to be 'blessed' ... which we think is all about 'flourishing': https://bibleproject.com/podcast/what-does-blessed-mean-beatitudes-pt-1

What does Jesus mean when he calls people “blessed” in the first section of the Sermon on the Mount? In this episode, Tim and Jon unpack what it means to be blessed according to Jesus’ counterintuitive message as he ushers in the kingdom of the skies.
