Peters Anglican Church SKB The St. Peter's Anglican Church is housed in a 17th century French building was constructed by Carmelite Friars either as a Chapel or Refectory.

It has been in use for (Church of England) Anglican worship since the Treaty of Utrecht in 1713. .

📣✍🏽 *DIOCESE OF NECA YOUTH ESSAY COMPETITION 2026*

Young people across the Diocese of North Eastern Caribbean and Aruba are invited to share their voices, ideas and hopes for the future in this year’s Youth Essay Competition.

This year’s topic is:

*“From Despair to Hope: How Can Young People Respond to the Challenges of Today’s World?"*

The competition is open to Anglican youth ages 13 to 21 years. Participants are encouraged to reflect deeply on the challenges facing today’s world and explore how young people can respond with faith, courage, compassion and meaningful action.

1st Prize – $1,500 XCD
2nd Prize – $1,000 XCD
3rd Prize – $500 XCD

This morning, we were proud to welcome our very own Development Bank St. Peter’s Football Club to worship with us and receive God’s blessing ahead of the Premier League 2026–2027 season.

The team also showed their love and support for our church by presenting a monetary donation. We sincerely thank them for their generosity.

We pray for God’s guidance, protection and success as they begin their season on Friday, 4th September 2026.

CHURCH ETHICS – HOW TO LISTEN TO A SERMON

Anglicans believe that God’s Word comes to us through the sacraments and the preaching of Holy Scripture. Honouring God’s Word, as well as getting something meaningful from our time in church, includes diligent listening to the sermon and active mental participation.

1. Practise Active Listening

While the listener does not get to speak, the sermon is still a conversation. Make mental notes as you listen. Pay attention to where and why you react, as well as the emotions you experience.

2. Take Notes

Note-taking promotes active listening and provides a good basis for later reflection. It also allows you to return to confusing or complicated parts of the sermon at your own leisure. Some congregations provide space in the bulletin for notes, while some confirmation ministries provide structured worksheets.
