Balaclava Presbyterian Church

The Presbyterian Church of Victoria have met this week for Assembly. Please pray for godly decisions and guidance for the ministers as they return to their parishes to minister to them. Marcus Campbell is preaching at Balaclava this week and Luke is preaching at our sister church Malvern Presbyterian Church. We pray God blesses you and refreshes your spirit as you hear from God's word.

This week Luke is preaching on 2
Corinthians 10:1-15. The problem of the ‘Super Apostles’. Who knew there was sarcasm in the Bible? Paul loved the Corinthians so much that he was worried about the influencers in their social media feed ( so to speak).

“There remains then, a sabbath rest for the people of God. Whoever enters God’s rest also rests from his own work”Hebrews 4: 9-10.

"Because property is a means rather than an end, faithful stewardship may sometimes require acquiring, retaining, adapting, sharing or disposing of property. There is no theological presumption that a church must retain a building simply because it has inherited or acquired it. The question is always how the resources entrusted to us can best serve the purposes of God".

Thanks The Gospel Coalition Australia and Michael Jensen for these reflections. We've been blessed with two buildings that were more than we needed, which is why we now meet at the Balaclava site.

We’re being shaped and renewed as we work through the book of 2 Corinthians. This week was chapter 7, exploring repentance. Repentance is the daily work of every Christian, to remember who we need to seek repentance from. Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret. 2 Cor 7:10
