A truly blessed Sunday at Saint Athanasios! 🙏☦️

We were honoured to welcome His Grace Bishop Themistocles of Nicopolis, who presided over the Divine Liturgy and offered a beautiful and powerful sermon on the Gospel of the Wedding Feast — reminding us that “many are called, but few are chosen.”

Following the Divine Liturgy, His Grace shared with us the inspiring missionary work being undertaken in Sierra Leone 🇸🇱, bringing the love of Christ to communities through faith, service and practical support.

Our parish was also pleased to support the mission through our Coffee for Africa fundraiser, together with a beautiful Father’s Day cake stall organised by our Philoptochos Society, with funds raised going towards the African Mission. ❤️

A wonderful morning of worship, fellowship and giving — putting the Gospel into action.

We thank His Grace for his presence, his words and his witness, and we thank everyone who supported today’s fundraising efforts.

Wishing a Happy Father’s Day to All!

We honour all fathers, grandfathers, godfathers, spiritual fathers, shepherds and father figures including those who have fallen asleep in the Lord.

Also, bless our dear Father Dimitri of our Parish of St Athanasios, Springvale. It is providential that he commenced his ministry at our Parish 2 years ago this week on the Feast of the Indictus (Ecclesiastical New Year).

May Christ keep you in good health for us all.

We are grateful for your service, your guidance and your prayers.

May you all always lead us with God’s love and grace.

With love from us all at the Parish of St Athanasios including the Parish Committee, the Philoptohos Society, the tireless Volunteers, the Elderly Citizens’ Club, the GO Teen Group, the Bible Studies Fellowship and the Aetolian College (Greek School) Springvale Campus.

IMPORTANT – TOMORROW’S DIVINE LITURGY

Dear everyone,

A reminder that tomorrow we will commence at 7:00 am, with the aim of completing the Divine Liturgy by approximately 10:30 am.

We are blessed to welcome His Grace Bishop Themistocles of Sierra Leone 🇸🇱 to our Parish. As tomorrow is also Father’s Day, the earlier finish will allow everyone the opportunity to spend time and have lunch with their families.

Following the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, everyone is warmly invited to the hall for a brief coffee and presentation by His Grace Bishop Themistocles about the important missionary work being undertaken in Sierra Leone.

God bless you all, and I look forward to seeing everyone bright and early tomorrow morning!

📖 NEW WEEKLY SCHEDULE — BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 2026

From September, we are making some changes to our weekly program at St Athanasios, Springvale, with more opportunities for prayer, Confession, Scripture and fellowship.

TUESDAYS
🙏 9:30–10:30am — Paraklesis in Greek
⛪ Church open throughout the day for personal prayer and reflection
☦️ Confession available until 6:00pm — bookings preferred, walk-ins welcome

WEDNESDAYS — NEW
🙏 6:00–7:00pm — Paraklesis to the Most Holy Theotokos in English
📖 7:00–8:00pm — Bible Study & Fellowship

Our Bible Study is moving to Wednesday evenings, immediately following the English Paraklesis.

Whether you have been coming regularly or would like to join us for the first time, everyone is warmly welcome.
