Προσευχόμεθα ὅπως ὁ Κύριος ἀναπαύῃ τὰς ψυχὰς αὐτῶν ἐν χώρᾳ ζώντων, ἐν σκηναῖς δικαίων, ἔνθα οὐκ ἔστι πόνος, οὐ λύπη, οὐ στεναγμός, ἀλλὰ ζωὴ ἀτελεύτητος.

Dear brothers and sisters,

Please find attached our programme of Holy Services and parish activities for the month of June.

This month includes the great Feast of Holy Pentecost, the Monday of the Holy Spirit, the Sunday of All Saints, the Apostles’ Fast, and the Feast of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.

In addition to our regular services, we continue our Tuesday morning Paraklesis to the Most Holy Theotokos, fellowship opportunities, Bible Studies, and special feast day services throughout the month.

We warmly invite all parishioners, families, and friends to participate in the liturgical life of our parish as we continue our spiritual journey together.

Due to the success of the previous Church Tours and by popular demand, we will continue our Church Tour series here at the Parish of Saint Athanasios!

This week we will explore one of the most sacred and beautiful parts of Orthodox worship:

☦️ The Proskomide — the preparation of the Holy Gifts before the Divine Liturgy.

Topics will include:

• How the priest prepares the bread and wine for sanctification
• The symbolism and meaning behind the Proskomide
• Commemorations for the living and departed
• Sacred liturgical vessels and items used during preparation
• Why this service is so important in Orthodox worship

Church Tour: Part Two

Following the wonderful discussion and questions from our first session, we will continue our guided exploration of the Orthodox Church and its worship.

Due to the Apodosis of Pascha Vespers on Tuesday the 19th of May, there will be no Bible Study that evening.

Additionally, due to the Vespers for the Feast of the Ascension and Saints Constantine & Helen on Wednesday the 20th of May, there will also be no Bible Study on Wednesday evening.

As a result, Church Tour: Part Two will now be held on:
