This Sunday at 10am we mark Pentecost in a multilingual service.
John 3:16 will be read in various languages.
There will be a blessing of congregational officers and volunteers during the service.
A lunch with dishes from across the world will be served after the service. The lunch will support the ‘Feast for Freedom’ fundraising initiative of the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC).

'For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.'

He is risen!
Our multilingual Easter Sunday service began with an adult baptism.
Worship was lead by Pastors Tommi Vuorinen and Yong B**g Cho who delivered the sermon. Readings were in English and Korean, as was the service order- with some Finnish language as well.
There were quite a few visitors. An added bonus was a visiting couple who were married in the church on this site 65 years ago!
A well catered and much enjoyed morning tea followed the service. There was cake too - Happy birthday to Pastor Russell Briese!

For several years we have joined with our near neighbours at All Saints Anglican Church on Palm Sunday. Today we all met at All Saints to begin worship. Their choir sang (beautifully) Pastor Tommi delivered a homily and then we processed around the inner city block with palms.

All glory, laud and honour
To thee, Redeemer, King
To whom the lips of children
Made sweet hosannas ring

We then continued with our respective services.

We enter Holy Week.

Holy Week begins this Sunday with the Procession with Palms together with All Saints Wickham Terrace, our Anglican neighbours across the way. We walk around the block with song. Good to be out witnessing to our community.

The Blessing of Palms and Procession begins at 945am inside All Saints, then we move to St Andrews, after our walk, for the rest of the mass.

Remember to come 15 minutes earlier!

We pray for FNQ as Cyclone Narelle approaches.

PLEASE PRAY FOR FAR NORTH QUEENSLAND

Tropical Cyclone Narelle continues to intensify in the northern Coral Sea, and is expected to bring severe impacts to Far North Queensland, landing late Thursday or Friday morning between Lockhart River and Port Douglas, at a Cat. 4 or 5.

Will you pray for the communities of Far North Queensland? 🙏

🌿 Pastor Aub Podlich wrote some prayers for times of crisis: you can find them here: https://tinyurl.com/49jxjfn6

Please join us as we stand in prayer for Far North Queensland.

'Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God’ (Philippians 4:6).

On this World Day of Prayer, we invite you to join in a prayer for peace as we witness the unfolding and escalating conflict in the Middle East.

Loving God,
we come before you, our hearts weary and heavy with grief at the violence unfolding across your world.

We bring before the people impacted by the growing conflict in the Middle East; those sheltering from bombs, those mourning the loss of loved ones, and those living with the fear that the decisions of powerful nations to wage war may unleash even greater suffering across the region.

For all those experiencing fear, uncertainty, grief and loss, we pray you would meet them in your love, and bring strength, healing and hope. For all those forced to flee the violence we pray for safety, shelter and protection.

We pray you would guide our world’s leaders away from a path of conflict and control towards your way of peace and compassion.

Stir the conscience of nations to protect civilians, to value the dignity of every human life, and to uphold the laws and norms that seek to restrain war and protect the vulnerable.

As we witness these troubling times, help us not harden our hearts or turn our eyes away, but instead draw near to you in prayer and one another in love and understanding.

May your spirit strengthen us to speak truth and work together for the peace, mercy and justice of your Kingdom.

Amen. . .
