While I enjoy thinking about the Athanasian Creed, our lives aren’t about creeds.

They’re about costly love, which is what the Trinity teaches us.

Creeds are important for our faith. Nicea, Chalcedon, Constantinople and other councils all attempt to provide a certainty to a profound mystery. It’s the best we can do with our human words!

The human heart comprehends the mystery much deeper, often beyond words.

We ponder this today on Trinity Sunday.

The Feast of Pentecost reminds us that the Source of the Christian faith is Jesus Christ, crucified and risen.

We are invited to reconnect with this Source this Pentecost.

We connected with the source of our faith on Pentecost at Singleton Anglican! Our newest server Jenna and our newest 4th Sunday organist Kyle made their debuts today as we celebrate the birth of the church!

The church building is ready - just waiting for the red-clad, Spirit-filled people/Church/Body to arrive to celebrate Pentecost 🔥

Our annual Mission Awareness Pie Drive has been red hot, just like the pies! Don't forget to have your orders and money to the Op Shop or Parish Office by the 27th of May!

At our church, volunteers make it possible for us to do the work of God in our community.

Volunteers are represented in:

🔶Our assistant clergy.
🔷Our Op Shop and sorting teams.
🔶 Our Parish Council - the governance team of our church.
🔷 Our Church serving teams, readers, intercessors, chalice assistants, flower arrangers and welcomers.
🔶 Our Youth and Families ministry including DiG staff and youth leaders.
🔷 Our gardeners and lawn mowers.

… and so many more.

We couldn’t do it without you.

Last week I attended the Sharwood Lecture in church and canon law at St James' Church, King Street, Sydney.

Catching public transport into the city, I was very excited to see the harbour bridge lit up at night. 🚂

As we passed Milsons Point station, I realised, after looking desperately for the bridge, I couldn’t see it because I was on it! 😆

Isn’t it a bit like that with church? We can’t see what we offer sometimes, because we are so involved in our way of doing things.

In our final sermon on the Season of Invitation, we are encouraged to remeber what it is we offer, and to invite someone to this!
