What a special Sunday at GVCF!

We love walking alongside people as they take next steps in their faith — and baptism is always such a powerful and joy-filled moment in that journey.

Last Sunday, we had the privilege of celebrating with Lehansa and Laura as they were baptised.

As a church family, we surrounded them with encouragement, prayer, and Scripture, speaking life and blessing over what God is doing and the future that they have ahead of them.

What a beautiful reminder of God’s transforming work among us — and the joy of journeying together as His church.

If you would like to share a scripture of encouragement for Lehansa or Laura, you can do so via our connect page - gvcf.org.au/connect

New Series begins Sunday, May 24th - 10.30AM GVCF 9 Pine Road Shepparton

The book of Acts tells the story of a church empowered by the Holy Spirit and committed to the way of Jesus — a community marked by courage, generosity, prayer, sacrifice, and mission.

In this 8-week series, Church on the Move, we’ll journey from Pentecost through the growth of the early church and into the story of church history itself. We’ll look at the boldness of the disciples, the faithfulness of Stephen, the transformation of Paul, and the spread of the gospel across cities, cultures, and generations.

More than a history lesson, this series invites us to consider what it means to be the church today: people who are not simply gathered, but sent — carrying the hope of Jesus into everyday life and our local community.

For many, Mother’s Day is a joy-filled day — a time to celebrate the gift of motherhood in all its unique and meaningful expressions. For others, it can be more complex — a quiet reminder of what hasn’t yet come to be, what has been lost, or what feels absent.

As a community, we want to hold space for all of it.

This Sunday at GVCF, we honour and come alongside every story. We celebrate the mothers who hold their children in their arms, those who carry their children in their hearts, and those navigating the space of longing, grief, or unfulfilled hopes.

Wherever this day finds you, you are seen, valued, and deeply loved.

The common Aussie phrase “no worries” suggests ease—no stress, no problems, all good. But the reality is, we live in a world full of worries. A quick listen to the news, a scroll through social media, or even everyday conversations quickly reveal the weight people are carrying.

As followers of Jesus, we’re called to respond differently. We don’t ignore what’s happening around us—but we also don’t have to carry it the same way. Instead, we live with freedom and assurance, trusting in God’s bigger plan. We’re invited to lay our worries at His feet and lift our focus upward to Christ.

This two-week miniseries is a call to do exactly that—to cast our anxieties on Him, share the burden, and learn to navigate the world's worries through the lens of following Jesus.

Join us for week two this Sunday, May 3rd, at GVCF from 10.30am

What’s My Responsibility? is a series that explores the shift from viewing responsibility as a burden to seeing it as a divine assignment. Over the next few weeks, we will examine how taking ownership of our lives leads to progress. It’s time to stop the blame game and truly understand the principle of “sowing and reaping,”. By the end of the series, we hope to see our responsibilities as God sees them and carry our own load a little better.

Join us this Sunday, March 22nd, at GVCF from 9:45 AM for our pre-service prayer and from 10:30 AM for our worship service.
