Unalome - อุณาโลม

A sacred design, often seen in Sakyant, deceptively simple, yet deeply profound.

The “Unalome” (spiral) is delusion - Craving. Attachment. Confusion.

The “Yak” หยัก are life’s trials - the lessons that cannot be avoided. The moments that challenge the ego
and reveal the truth beneath it.

And then “Sen” - เส้น. The straight line as the mind becomes still. Clear. Unshaken.

This is the path toward “Nirvana” - นิพพาน - the end of suffering.

What appears as a basic design is actually a reflection of the entire journey of the mind 🙏🏼

Sunday - Wan Athit วันอาทิตย์ 🔴

The day of light, presence and stepping into your power. Wan Athit is Sunday in Thai, and is governed by the sun-god Phra Athit พระอาทิตย์.

Phra Athit doesn’t just shine, he reveals. Under his light nothing can hide - not your ego, not your strength, not your truth.

Like the Buddha in Pang Tawai Neht pose ปางถวายเนตร, standing in stillness, eyes open, aware.

This is a reminder to lead with clarity, not pride. To shine in a way that gives life, not burns. Step into your light and illuminate the path for others 🙏🏼

Wan Sao – วันเสาร์ - Phra Sao – พระเสาร์ - Saturn

Not all forces in life are gentle.

Some come to test you. To strip away illusion. To show you exactly who you are.

Phra Sao is not about comfort, he is about truth over time.

Discipline. Patience. Endurance. The weight of your actions… returning to you. The story of the fallen king is not just a story, it’s a mirror. We all have moments where we drift. Where ego grows. Where we ignore what we know is right.

And when Saturn arrives, it doesn’t ask - It reveals.
But this is not punishment. This is refinement. Because those who endure - who stay steady through the fire - don’t just recover, they rise stronger, calmer, and wiser.

Pang Naak Prok 🐍 - ปางนาคปรก
Still. Protected. Unshaken. Sit with it 🙏🏼

Friday - Wan Suk วันศุกร์ 🔵

The day of beauty, love, and refinement.
Ruled by Phra Suk, the force of attraction, pleasure, and harmony.

This is the energy that draws people together: art, connection, desire - the things that make life feel rich.

But Phra Suk is also a teacher. Because what feels good, can just as easily become attachment.

Phra Suk reminds us to enjoy life, but not be consumed by it. To appreciate beauty, without losing ourselves in it. To feel desire, without becoming controlled by it.

The Buddha posture for Friday, ปางรำพึง, reflects this perfectly. A moment of stillness. Of reflection. Not rejecting pleasure, but understanding it.

So today, enjoy what life offers. Connection, passion, art, love. Just don’t forget to stay aware. Because true balance is where beauty meets wisdom.

Thursday - Wan Phareuhat วันพฤหัส 🟡

The day of Phra Phareuhat (พระพฤหัส). The great teacher.

Known as the guru of the gods,
Even the most powerful beings would come to him…
Not for strength, but for wisdom.

He is guided by Jupiter…
The planet of expansion, knowledge, and higher understanding. Not quick thinking… But deep, grounded clarity.

The Buddha posture for Thursday is ปางสมาธิ - Pang Samadhi - Seated in meditation… Still, centred… unshaken.

Because true wisdom doesn’t come from reacting to chaos, it comes from stilling the mind within it.

To be born on this day is to carry the energy of the teacher - Patient. Observant. Guided by perspective.
Not here to control the world, but to understand it.

Wednesday - Wan Put วันพุธ 🟢

The day of Phra Phut (พระพุธ), the energy of the mind.
Clarity. Awareness. Discernment.

Born from divine intention, shaped from strength, but guided by intelligence. Phra Phut reminds us that not every situation needs your reaction, not every thought needs your attention.

The Buddha for Wednesday morning stands receiving, and sits in stillness in the afternoon when the world becomes too loud.

Because true intelligence isn’t just thinking. It’s knowing when to engage, and when to be still.

Calm mind. Clear path 🙏🏼😌

Tuesday — Wan Angkarn - วันอังคาร 🔴

The day of Phra Angkarn (พระอังคาร)…
The force of action, discipline, and controlled power.

Linked to Mars - the red planet - This is the energy of movement, courage, and decisive action.

But not chaos. Not reaction. Control.

In Thai tradition, Tuesday is paired with the reclining Buddha - Pang Saiyaat ปางไสยาสน์…
A reminder that even in strength, there must be surrender. Even in power, stillness.

Born from the intense energy of Shiva, raised by the Earth goddess herself, Phra Angkarn teaches us:

Act when it’s time to act.
Stand firm when it matters.
And don’t get pulled into battles that aren’t yours.

Those born on a Tuesday carry this fire within them - strong, direct, protective.

But their true strength? Knowing when to use it.

I’m starting a series exploring the days of the week in Thai tradition. The deities that govern them, the stories behind them, and the deeper meaning they carry.

We begin with Monday - Wan Jan (วันจันทร์), named after Phra Jan (พระจันทร์), the Moon.

Phra Jan represents emotion, intuition, and the inner world. A soft, luminous energy - not harsh, but revealing truths that are felt rather than seen.

In one of his most well-known stories, known in Hindu tradition as Chandra, he fell deeply in love with Rohini… but his love became imbalance. Neglecting his other wives, their jealousy led to a curse that caused him to fade - losing his light night by night.

Seeking help, he turned to Shiva. Instead of removing the curse, Shiva transformed it - giving rise to the cycles of the Moon. A constant rhythm of fading, and returning.

Monday is also associated with the Buddha posture ปางห้ามญาติ - the act of calming conflict without force. A reminder that true strength is not in reaction… but in stillness.

Those born on a Monday - often called “Luuk Wan Jan” (ลูกวันจันทร์) children of the Moon - carry this energy. Deeply feeling, intuitive, and constantly moving through cycles of growth.

Just like the Moon, even when we fade, we return 🌙
