New Front Door want to help small and medium sized Australian churches get the benefit of “large church” IT without the cost or difficulty of managing their own large teams. IT teams within small or planted churches are necessarily tiny, often just 1 person, and the New Front Door team connects those volunteers with each other, creating community and partnership as well as training and skills for
church volunteers, a task that would be very difficult to achieve otherwise. We help churches and other ministries use all the powers of modern IT, helping them communicate better with both insiders and outsiders, and manage the work of ministry better. The New Front Door team was originally formed as the Crossroads Hobart IT team in 2002, before being included within Vision 100 and re-launching as "The Vision 100 IT Team" in 2005. In 2018 we became a separate not-for-profit association with a national vision. Throughout our history, we have trained and equipped church and ministry leaders in churches with techniques and tools to assist them in using ever-changing technology solutions more effectively. That experience, combined with regular research, has equipped New Front Door with knowledge of many IT solutions for churches, and, more importantly, a catalogue of best practices which we use to ensure that the churches that we assist employ IT solutions in a rigorous fashion.
