“Woman, you have great faith!” — Matthew 15:28

In Matthew 15:21–28, a Canaanite woman comes to Jesus crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.”

Jesus does not answer her immediately. Yet she continues to plead, “Lord, help me!”

Even when she is tested, she humbly persists in faith, trusting that even the smallest mercy from Jesus is enough.

And Jesus says:

“Woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish.”
— Matthew 15:28

Her faith was marked by humility, persistence, and confidence in the mercy of Christ.

This passage reminds us that genuine faith does not demand that God answer on our terms. It bows before Jesus, trusts His goodness, and continues to cry out to Him.

“Lord, help me.”

May we have that kind of faith—faith that perseveres, faith that humbles itself before Christ, and faith that believes He is merciful and sufficient.

🙏 Lord Jesus, have mercy on us. Strengthen our faith to trust You, even when the answer seems delayed.

Today we had the privilege of returning a very special cross on a chain to a family who had sadly lost it in the church car park. ❤️✝️

It was so heartwarming to see the family’s faces when they were reunited with it — they were absolutely elated and incredibly grateful to have it back.

Sometimes the smallest acts of kindness can mean so much to someone. We’re so glad this precious cross found its way home. 🙏❤️

A beautiful reminder that what may seem small to us can hold immeasurable meaning to someone else

In today Gospel Matthew 14:22–36, the disciples faced a storm that seemed overwhelming—until they saw Jesus walking toward them on the water.

Peter stepped out in faith, and as long as his eyes were fixed on Jesus, he walked above the waves. But when he focused on the wind and the storm, fear took over, and he began to sink. Even then, Jesus immediately reached out and caught him.

How often do life's storms distract us from the One who is holding us? Fear grows when we focus on our circumstances, but faith grows when we keep our eyes on Christ.

The chapter ends with people bringing the sick to Jesus, believing that even touching the edge of His cloak would bring healing—and everyone who touched Him was made well. What a reminder that Jesus is not only Lord over the storms but also our source of hope, healing, and peace.

No matter what you're facing today, don't let the waves define your faith. Keep your eyes on Jesus. He is still reaching out, still calming storms, and still changing lives.

Theologically, Anglicanism charts a third way through the landscape of evangelical and catholic options: one that is not at odds with either, but nonetheless aspires, at its best, to be more than what either can offer on its own.

When the crowd gathered, Jesus didn't see a problem—He saw people in need. With just five loaves and two fish, He blessed what was offered, and it became more than enough for everyone.

This passage reminds us that God can do extraordinary things with what may seem small in our hands. When we place our time, gifts, and resources in His care, He multiplies them for His purposes.

Whatever you're facing today, remember: with Jesus, there is always enough.

"They all ate and were filled." — Matthew 14:20
