Do we want to be right, or do we want to see?

A reflection on the Sunday of the Blind Man and the Orthodox faith we hand from one generation to the next.

The first generation carried the Church across oceans with sacrifice, memory, love, and confusion.

The second generation often carried wounds, embarrassment, and the desire to protect their children from shame.

Now the third and fourth generations are asking deeper questions.

Were we given Orthodoxy as the living path to Christ, or only as culture, family history, and occasional custom?

Christ sees the man others try to explain. He touches the place of blindness. He sends him to wash. He brings him into worship.

“One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see.” (John 9:25)
