We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Olympos Concrete Testing for their generosity, dedication and commitment in organising and hosting a fundraising event in support of our Parish and Community.

Through the hard work and dedication of the organisers, and the overwhelming support of sponsors, volunteers, parishioners, friends and the wider community, an outstanding total of $8,000 was raised for St Demetrios. This generous contribution will assist our ongoing efforts to maintain, improve and preserve our Parish for future generations.

We are sincerely grateful to Olympos Concrete Testing for their generous support of our Parish and for helping bring our community together for such a meaningful cause. Their generosity and community spirit are a wonderful example of faith in action.

On behalf of Father Sotirios, the Executive Committee, and the entire St Demetrios community, we sincerely thank everyone whose support and contributions made this event such a success.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising event for St Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, St Marys.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsors, donors, volunteers, parishioners, family, friends, and the wider community, we are proud to announce that together we raised **$8,000** towards our church.

This achievement would not have been possible without the support of every person who attended, donated, volunteered, or contributed in any way. Your kindness and generosity demonstrate the strength of our community and commitment to preserving our parish for future generations.

On behalf of Olympos Concrete Testing, we extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who helped make this event such a success.

May God bless you and your families for your generosity, support, and continued dedication to our church community.

DIVINE LITURGY IN ENGLISH
Tonight, 8th June, as we begin the Apostles’ Fast, the Divine Liturgy will be conducted in English at the Parish and Community of St Demetrios, from 7-8pm.

This season invites us to renew our commitment to spiritual growth as we follow the example of the Holy Apostles in their devotion to Christ and His Gospel.

We encourage our parishioners and faithful to join us!

THE APOSTLES' FAST

Tomorrow, we begin the Fast of the Holy Apostles, and we are called to embrace this sacred time with prayer, fasting and reflection.

The Apostles' Fast is a beautiful opportunity to honour the Holy Apostles, especially Saints Peter and Paul, whose unwavering faith and tireless work laid the foundation of the early Church. Through this fast, we strive to draw closer to Christ, following the example of the Apostles in faith, sacrifice and love.

The Apostles’ Fast, which is observed from tomorrow until the 29th of June, is generally less strict than Great Lent, but still a meaningful time of discipline. We abstain from meat, dairy and eggs. However fish, wine, and oil are permitted (except Wednesdays and Fridays, which are fast days - no fish, wine, or oil).

Beyond abstaining from certain foods, this Fast invites us to grow spiritually and deepen our relationship with Christ; let us use this season of spiritual renewal to grow in faith, increase our prayers and serve one another in love.

A BLESSED AND FRUITFUL APOSTLE'S FAST TO ALL!

We warmly encourage our parishioners and all faithful to support this special fundraising afternoon tea being held at our neighbouring Holy Monastery of St George Yellow Rock, on Sunday, 7 June at 3:00 p.m.

With the blessing of His Eminence, Archbishop Makarios of Australia, the Monastery will be welcoming His Grace, Bishop Chrysostomos of Bukoba and Western Tanzania, who will be sharing firsthand insights into the missionary work of the Church in Bukoba and Western Tanzania, Africa.

This gathering is an opportunity to learn more about the mission of the Church, support its ongoing ministries, and enjoy fellowship together in the beautiful surroundings of the Monastery.

We encourage all who are able to attend and support this worthy cause.
