Charlie is the founder of the youth ministry, Love is Our Weapon, which aims to mobilise youth groups and churches to put love into action in their interactions within their local community. Prepare to be inspired as you listen to her story and come with an expectant heart to hear God speaking to you about your own life. Tasmanian farmers are supplying more local produce to the state’s free school lunch program, which now feeds students at 60 public schools.

The $14.6 million, two-year program serves 21,500 lunches a week, uses 15 growers for apples, potatoes, flour and parsley and includes $600,000 for kitchen upgrades.

Loaves and Fishes Tasmania chief executive Andrew Hillier said the program now used just under half a tonne of fresh vegetables, more than 150 kilograms of dairy and 1850 apples each week from local suppliers.

The program aims to shorten supply chains, support Tasmanian agriculture and improve student focus, with all meals cooked from scratch and students encouraged to try new foods.

It comes as a separate school breakfast program, run in partnership with Variety Tasmania, is delivering more than 300,000 free meals across 76 government schools, as part of a broader push to improve student nutrition.

St Jerome, widely regarded as the greatest biblical scholar of the ancient church penned these words in his commentary on Galatians 6:10

“The blessed John the Evangelist lived in Ephesus until extreme old age. His disciples could barely carry him to church and he could not muster the voice to speak many words. During individual gatherings he usually said nothing but, "Little children, love one another." The disciples and brothers in attendance, annoyed because they always heard the same words, finally said, "Teacher, why do you always say this?" He replied with a line worthy of John: "Because it is the Lord's commandment and if it alone is kept, it is sufficient."

Busy at the Centre today with two groups in running workshops. Keeping the lights on at the Grace Centre isn’t cheap and we greatly appreciate the businesses that use our facility so that we can continue to provide free services to our community.
