Today, we honour and celebrate the fathers who have loved, guided, protected, and encouraged us throughout our lives.
We also give thanks for the men who have stepped into the gap when a father has been absent — grandfathers, stepfathers, mentors, family members, friends and faithful father figures who have offered love, wisdom, kindness and support.
And today, we gently remember those for whom Father’s Day carries a sense of loss — those who are missing a much-loved dad and holding treasured memories close.
May we be grateful for the gift of fatherhood in all its forms, and may we reflect the compassion, faithfulness, and love of our Heavenly Father to those around us.
“As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion…”
— Psalm 103:13
