Did you know that 81% of Australians are not attending church and have little or no connection with a church community?

That's more than 4 out of every 5 Australians.

While some may see this as a challenge, we see an incredible opportunity.

❤An opportunity to build relationships.
❤An opportunity to serve our communities.
❤An opportunity to share the hope, love, and transforming power of Jesus.

The mission of Jesus remains unchanged:

"He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved.'" Mark 16:15-16

Across Australia, God is calling His Church to engage, disciple, multiply, and reach those who have yet to experience His love.

The harvest is plentiful. The opportunity is before us.

Let's continue to pray, invest, serve, and share the good news of Jesus with the communities God has placed around us.

This weekend marks a significant milestone for one of A2A’s churches — Gateway Church, Seaford, led by Rick and Marcy Paynter.

For 40 years, Gateway Church has faithfully impacted its community and touched the lives of countless people. What an incredible story God has been writing through this church — through its pastors, eldership, church family, and the wider community they have so passionately served.

Their influence has extended not only across the Mornington Peninsula, but throughout Australia and into Papua New Guinea.

Gateway Church has been known for its passion for Jesus, its heart for people, and its commitment to the creative arts.

Congratulations, Gateway Church, on 40 amazing years of ministry and impact! We celebrate all that God has done and pray His richest blessings over the next 40 years ahead.

Tim O’Neill, A2A’s National Leader and also the National Leader of Exponential Australia, recently wrote a powerful article titled:

“Rebuilding Connection and Community: Opportunities for Church Plants and Churches in Changing and Uncertain Times.”

In the article, Tim reflects on the growing challenges of isolation, loneliness, and anxiety in our communities, while also highlighting the opportunity the Church has in this season to bring hope, connection, and the message of Jesus.

“Our world is changing quickly, and many are experiencing isolation, loneliness and anxiety at levels we are not used to seeing. Just perhaps many who have been closed in the past may be opening to the spiritual.”

It’s an insightful and inspiring read for pastors, leaders, and anyone passionate about the mission of the Church in today’s world.

Holy Spirit Empowerment is one of A2A’s aspirational values.

Who are we without the Holy Spirit?
Who is the Church without the Holy Spirit?

These are important questions for all of us to reflect on — as individuals, as local churches, and collectively as the Body of Christ.

Holy Spirit Empowerment is about living and leading with dependence on His power rather than relying on our own strength. When the Holy Spirit moves, lives are changed, hope is restored, and communities are transformed.

Imagine what our churches, communities, and nation could look like when we truly live empowered by the Holy Spirit.

As part of our Aspirational Values, we are committed to seeing safer churches for all.

What does this mean? It means creating environments where every person is valued and protected, and where bullying and abuse of any kind are not tolerated.
