Sometimes it’s hard to know what’s real anymore. It can be very disorientating.
Against which the church’s voice of authenticity matters.
There are times when I finish preaching and think: “that wasn’t my best. It wasn’t very polished. I struggled to get that point across and I get a little lost”.
And sometimes we sing the wrong words or have awkward transitions.
That doesn’t mean we stop bringing our best. We prepare. We care. We give what we have. We try and improve and offer God our best as worship.
But we aren’t interested in creating a performance that hides our humanity.
The truth is God has always, and will always, work through ordinary people.
His strength is made perfect in our weakness.
Which is why as a church we value people over systems, authenticity over performance and faithfulness over a worldly picture of “success”.
So in an age where the line between artificial and real is increasingly blurred… our community aspire to be unapologetically human, authentic and genuine. Mistakes and all.
If you’re searching for something real to ground you, you’re welcome to come and journey with us.
