DAY FIVE: THE SPIRIT’S REAL WORK

What does a Spirit-filled church look like? Look for transformed lives.

Today’s Week of Prayer reading reminds us that the Holy Spirit’s work is centred on Jesus. He guides us into truth, changes hearts and gives ordinary people the power to take the gospel into the world.

The Holy Spirit was not given to entertain or draw attention to us. He was given to empower Christ’s mission of seeking and saving the lost.

The evidence of His presence is found in people coming to Jesus, believers growing in faith and the church united in sharing God’s love.

“You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me.” Acts 1:8

Where is the Holy Spirit calling you to share Jesus or serve someone today?

DAY FOUR: DOCTRINE WITH A FACE

Doctrine has a face, and His name is Jesus.

Today’s Week of Prayer reading reminds us that our beliefs are about more than information, rules or traditions. Every truth in Scripture is designed to reveal Jesus and draw us closer to Him.

The Sabbath is more than a 24-hour period. It is an invitation to rest with the Lord of the Sabbath. Baptism is an invitation into new life with Christ. Even our health message points towards the Creator who lovingly designed us.

If our beliefs do not help people see the character and love of Jesus, we have missed their purpose. Without the Lamb, there is no message. He is the centre of it all.

“You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.” John 5:39

Which of your beliefs has helped you understand Jesus more deeply?

DAY THREE: THE WORLD STILL NEEDS OUR MESSAGE

The message hasn’t expired, and the mission hasn’t changed.

Today’s Week of Prayer reading reminds us that the everlasting gospel is still relevant, powerful and urgently needed. Our calling is not built on trends, popularity or human eloquence. It is anchored in Jesus and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

The truths of Revelation 14 continue to point people towards Christ, offering hope in a world where human systems keep failing and hearts are searching for something eternal.

God has entrusted us with a message that cannot be replaced. Our role is to share it faithfully, clearly and always with Jesus at the centre.

“Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth.” Revelation 14:6

Who could you share the hope of Jesus with today?

DAY TWO: READING ISN’T ENOUGH

The devil doesn’t mind if you read the Bible, as long as you don’t live it.

Today’s Week of Prayer reading challenges us to move God’s Word from the page into our hearts, choices and everyday lives.

Just as food nourishes every part of the body, Scripture changes us when we take it in and put it into practice. Following Jesus means more than knowing what He said. It means trusting Him enough to live differently because of it.

“Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.” Psalm 119:11

What is one teaching from the Bible you want to put into practice this week?

Australia, it’s time to add our voice. 🇦🇺🌏

OneVoice27 is a worldwide movement preparing the Church for September 2027, when Adventists across every nation will unite to proclaim Jesus through every platform, every community and every voice. It marks 2,000 years from Christ’s baptism and the beginning of His public ministry.

The preparation starts now: prayer, time in The Desire of Ages, study of Daniel and Revelation, and a renewed commitment to share Christ where we are.

Australia, this is our invitation to be part of something truly global.

One Christ. One mission. OneVoice27.

Week of Prayer Day 1: Grounded in the Bible

Storms don’t create weak foundations. They reveal them.

In today’s Week of Prayer reading, we are reminded that while the world keeps shifting, God’s Word remains firm. Jesus described two builders who both faced the storm, but only the house built on rock remained standing.

The Bible is more than something we read. It is the foundation beneath our faith, the light for our next step and the guide for our mission.

As we begin this week united in prayer, may we return to the Word, build our lives on its truth and allow it to shape the way we live and share Jesus.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105

What is one Bible verse that has helped you stand firm during a difficult season?

From this Sabbath, September 5, until September 12, Seventh-day Adventists across the nation will unite around one mission: lifting up Jesus.
We’re praying for revival in our hearts, unity in our churches and the everlasting gospel to transform lives in every community.
