New Community http://newcommunity.org.au Diversity

New Community is made up of a diversity of people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences.

We are partnering with God in His cause to transform this world for good by being mercy givers and justice bringers in both our local and global communities for Jesus. What we believe

We believe that there is only one God who exists as Father, Son (Jesus) and Spirit, who from love created the heavens and the earth, and who by love sought to restore a broken world back to Himself through the Son (

Jesus), who in love sends the Spirit to recreate us so that from love we also might partner with God in recreating His world for good. Whatever your culture or creed, you are welcome to belong and participate in the life of New Community as we seek to centre our lives around the person and pursuits of Jesus. Community

The African saying is so true, “It takes a whole community to raise a child.” We believe it is important to create safe and healthy spaces for young people to grow and mature. At New Community young people are valued, as are the relationships between the young and old. Having ‘significant others’, like older men and women as mentors and healthy role models is so very important in the life of our community. Providing such relationships is one of our goals at NCR. Engage Sunday

Engage Sunday is our way of partnering with God in transforming his world for good. Of course we don’t have to wait for an engage Sunday to serve others, but we do want people to know that following Jesus involves faith in action. So look out for our next engage and join with us. Relationship

Many people at New Community have followed Jesus for some time, whilst others are still discovering what a relationship with God involves. No matter where you are along this continuum we invite you to participate with us in being a positive relational influence in other peoples lives. Confession

The Christian Way is two fold. It involves a confession about who Jesus is and a wilful desire to conform ourselves to the pattern of his way. We seek to understand and practice God’s lifestyle (Kingdom) in our glocal community.

This week is Engage Sunday!

At New Community we value people and believe going out into our community and offering practical help is one way to live that out. So instead of our usual Sunday gatherings at Maroondah Federation Estate we do church a little differently on Engage Sundays. It could mean going to help someone around their garden, donating blood, cooking for our foodbank, visiting the residents at Lionsbrae Aged Care, helping those affected by bushfires, washing cars or encouraging someone you know is doing it tough.

There are lots of different activities to suit different personalities and abilities. You can sign up on our app today!

Our S@10 and S@5 gatherings will resume on August 30th.

Baptisms are happening this Sunday in the courtyard, at both @10 and @5.

Baptisms @10 will be happening towards the end of the Gathering, while baptisms @5 will take place at the start of the Gathering. Make sure you come along to support the folks from your gathering who are getting baptised and publicly declaring their love for Jesus, and desire to live with Jesus as their Lord and King. And don’t forget to bring your umbrella!

Looking for something fun to do with your preschooler on a Thursday morning?

We have spaces available in term 3 at our intergenerational music program, Lion Cubs!

At New Community Ringwood Church we run an intergenerational music/activity program for pre-schoolers and the aged care residents of Lionsbrae in East Ringwood. Our program aims to build helpful connections between the young children, their carers and the elderly residents, spurred on by the ABC documentary series - "Old People's Home for Four Year Olds" (without the cameras). We hope to see the children grow in confidence and at the same time provide a positive experience for the older adults. Led by professional educators, the programs include singing, percussion, physical activity, and social interaction. Caregivers are expected to participate with their children. We finish with fruit provided for the children's morning tea.

There is no cost to attend Lion Cubs.

Please register through the link below if you would like to attend.
