Greetings NRUCkids families.

Hope your 2026 year has begun in a positive way!

A fridge magnet version of the flyer below is on the way to you by mail.

This year, a quiet craft activity, aligned with the lectionary reading, is being organised for the non-Messy and NRUCkids weekends at church. The number of families worshipping on the (typically) 4th Sunday morning, is increasing and we want to support you in your efforts to keep the young ones engaged during the service.

Looking forward to seeing you at NRUCkids soon!

NRUCkids at our church is such a joy!
Today despite numerous 'sickies' 17 kids of all ages examined and pondered the complex subject of the Trinity; the three persons of God.

God the Father
God the Son
God the Holy Spirit

After a vibrant and somewhat explosive Early Word, the children (and some parents) enjoyed a yummy morning tea, great activities, and concluding the session with Trinity (Neopolitan) icecream in a cone. Not surpisingly, a number of somewhat older folk turned up at the end to share in the treat!

A great time was had!!

See you next time at NRUCkids!!

A very joyful morning was had at NRUCkids last Sunday.

The theme of the morning throughout the whole church was discernment. A good thing too, as with multiple sickies among the leadership team, it was rapidly discerned that others needed to step up to support the kids' program! And indeed they did!!

Attached are some pictures of the activities undertaken by the children. There were 18 young delights enjoying and learning about listening for, and acting on God's leading.

Our next NRUCkids morning is this Sunday, when we will be exploring baptism and witnessing young Isaac Lloyd Sweatman's baptism. The Sweatman family would really value your presence.

The joy of this event will be concluded with a whole community sausage sizzle.

Should be a wonderful morning of celebration and gladness!

What a great time we had a NRUCkids on Sunday morning!
So many highlights!!

Early word featured a Merry Shepherd, teaching young and old that Jesus is like the good shepherd knowing all his sheep. The sheep (followers) know his voice too and they are not led astray.

Annie and Beth prepared great crafts and gorgeous gifts for the mums for Mothers Day.

The children returned to the church to sing, Mother Sheep Ba Ba Ba Ba to a familiar tune.

The delightful Sammy and Poppy were dedicated during the main service. A beautiful faithful family!

Two of the dads cooked sausages to perfection for the monthly sausage in bread lunch.

The weather was glorious, the message on point and the lovely crowd of young families had a hoot of a time.

Thanks be to God!!

A fabulous time was had a NRUCkids yesterday morning.

23 delightful young folk enjoyed a yummy morning tea followed by activities reinforcing Phillipians 4:1 where Paul calls the believers to “Stand firm in the Lord.”

The young ones were totally engaged in the wide variety of great crafts. Pictures are attached, plus a video follows showing even as things change around us in life (the water beads) our faith (the rock) should remain firm.

Can’t wait for the next NRUCkids on Sunday 30th March,

It was such a hoot to see so many young people at NRUCkids last Sunday!

The little (and not so little) folk, enjoyed a scrumptious morning tea and then Beth and Digger led the children through the gripping story of the Transfiguration. Plenty of crafts (thanks BETH - you're a natural) and Digger's science experiment was outstanding.

To end a delightful morning, the entire church community enjoyed a sausage in bread with all the trimmings.

It's great to be part of the NRUCkids community!

More shots from a terrific morning!

A fabulous time at NRUCkids this morning as we were reminded that God does not view and value us as the world does. In fact, often it’s the reverse: blessed are the poor, hungry, sad and rejected. (Luke 6:17-26)

It’s upside down, and so we enjoyed an upside down event as shown in the video and accompanying photos.

Much fun and learning!!

Another wonderful Messy Carols event on Saturday night! 95 Messy folk joined with the other NRUC congregations, for creative activities, yummy sausages in bread and carol favourites. Pictures below speak to the joy of celebrating the birth of Jesus!

If you enjoyed Saturday night (or perhaps were unable to attend due to prior commitments) don’t miss the 10am Christmas morning service.

See you tomorrow!

Last Sunday the children and families of NRUCkids joined the 10am worship service. There were acknowledgments, songs, prayers, bible readings and an a wonderful play involving angels, shepherds, sheep, wise folk, Mary, Joseph, Jesus and a dinosaur!

The whole morning was a serious delight!! 29 children were in attendance - a record for 2023!

One of the great joys, (other than the obvious joy associated with the first week of advent) was the faces on the congregation witnessing the enthusiasm in which the children participated. It was so lovely!! Pictures below will give you a taste of the fun!

Thanks be to God!!
