Each August, Samoan Women’s Ministries from across Victoria come together for a special combined worship service, with a different church hosting each year.
Last Sabbath, Southeast Melbourne Samoan Church had the privilege of welcoming women from across the region.
This year’s theme, Sisters of the Islands/Pacific: One God. Many Journeys, celebrated the shared faith and diverse journeys of women throughout the Pacific. Each Women’s Ministries group represented an island that is currently, or has previously been, part of the TPUM 4CHRIST mission movement.
The Sabbath was filled with beautiful music and worship from each island group, reflecting the cultures, stories and faith of women from across the Pacific.
AUC's Adelle Lautasi shared the Sabbath message, reflecting on the journey of Women’s Ministries over the years and the many spiritual gifts God has given women to serve others within their churches and communities.
She also spoke about Australia for Christ and the important role women can play in sharing Jesus.
Evangelism is not something that rests only with pastors and elders. Women are also called to use their gifts, talents, experiences and influence, working together and journeying with Jesus to reach people within their own communities.
With Matthew 24:14 as a reminder of the mission still before us, the gathering encouraged women to recognise that every gift can be used for God’s purpose and every woman has a part to play in sharing the gospel.
